I hope it's not too early to start thinking about Mother's Day, but my mom loves the planning as much as the taking out, I think. I'm wondering if anyone knows of places for brunch, in central jersey. Preferably Monmouth/Ocean county, probably no further north than Union county. Under $30pp. And eggs benedict are almost a requirement.

We called up Lobster Shanty down in Pt Pleasant, but they're only doing dinner (they used to do a nice brunch during the winter; haven't been there in awhile). The current candidate is Redhead's, in Eatontown (I think...). $18pp, fyi, but I have no idea what they have. Haven't been there since I worked in the area a few years ago. Lunch was decent at the time...

I'll have a list of restaurants for Mother's Day on Table Hopping With Rosie 4/30. Meanwhile is the Grenville Restaurant, Bay Head too far? Don't have price or info. Phone: 732-892-3100

We've been to the Grenville before, so we'll have to look into what they're doing for Mother's Day. I know my dad prefers AYCE buffet :hmmm: but the Greneville is so pretty, my mom might like to go there anyway.

I was sorta wondering if/when you were doing an article, Rosie.

Anything new this year on the Mother's Day brunch front? I'm hoping to coax my folks up to my neck of the woods (western Union county), but I may end up back in Monmouth/Ocean. Hoping to stay under $40p, but for a good brunch, I'll go up. Of the (minimal) research I've done so far:

Grenville hotel is doing a sit down dinner.

Stage House is having a (wonderful sounding) fixed price dinner at $58pp.

Frog & the Peach has a similiarly priced pre fixe.

There's always Snuffy's at $30pp (yes, I know, but I suspect my folks will like it, and it's hard to screw up eggs).

Our House Restaurant in Farmingdale is having a dinner buffet, not a brunch one (got a soft spot for them, as it's where I had my wedding).

I need to call a few places in my area that may have something: Isabella's (Westfield), Robert's Steakhouse (Garwood), Molly McGuire's (Clark, I think), and BG Fields (Westfield?). They all have a Sunday brunch of some type normally, so they might have something else.

I debated taking the family out to someplace extra nice (which is why Stagehouse & Frog and the Peach are on the list), but I think I'll wait for their anniversary in August instead.

The best brunch anywhere is at the Molly Pitcher in Red Bank, but I don't know if you will get a reservation this close to Mother's day. You can also try Salt Creek Grille in Rumson.

Get your bitch ass back in the kitchen and make me some pie!!!
