My name is Mary. I appreciate the approval to my request. I adore all things cooking and baking especially learning about how different cultures use spines and ingredients differently than what I am accustomed to. I hope to interact with others here.

@wishtoBakeforall0513Welcome to eGullet. I'm sure you'll enjoy the place.

You mentioned that you'd like to learn how various cultures use spines and ingredients differently. What are spines? How do you use them?

Thanks for the replies everyone. Well currently I have been working through eastern european foods. Cabbage and egg noodles with chicken sausage was dinner. I bakes speculass (windmill) cookies this am. My favorite dish? Thats difficult. I adore anything using beef short ribs, seafood and ricotta stuffed shells, lasagna, crepes, roasted pecans are a favorite to bake with, brittles, sweet breads especially with almond or fig filling, I cannot pick just one!

I feel like I should include that I have short sausage fingers, and anyone with stubby, meaning wide, and short fingers can attest, that touch screens + sausage fingers are nooooot friends. I type more typOs than words. Additionally, I have this goofy form of dysgraphia whereby I swap letters and for real, cannot readily identify that I have swapped said letters. That translates into my inability many times, especially during stress, arthritis flare, etc. my not being able to see typ-Os. I do re-read my posts prior to hitting submit, however, the goofy unruly crossed wires in my brain see the words as typed correctly many times, until outside attention is brought to it, and even then I have to put effort into slowing my brain down to visually view the typo. Drives me bonkers lol. I am of the generation where unproofread essays were sometimes thought of as disrespectful, which also has a bit to do with being sent to 8 years of Catholic schools, followed by 4 of CCD, which is why I refer to myself as a recovering Catholic. Im still Catholic, God help me, however working steadfastly to minimize the guilt that came with, and become more realistic. 😉
