I find that after I wash my sikpats there seems to be a very thin layer of grease left on them. Is there some special cleaning technique that will eliminate the greasy feeling? I know they're kinda slippery to start with, but I don't think I'm getting them completely clean. Thanks--

I dislike silicone for this reason.

 

I would scrub them (scour, really) with a strong citrus cleaner and a blue scrubbie, and then run through the DW for several cycles.  Then, if they still smell nasty, bury them in unscented kitty litter or bentonite clay.

I make a paste with baking soda and use that as the cleaning agent, works pretty well for me. You could also try spraying with alcohol if it still feels greasy after cleaning.

If you use them for both savory and sweet purposes, I'd suggest keeping separate silpats.  Fats do seem to bond to them, and you probably don't want macarons picking up cheesy frico oil (for example).
