That looks good. I need to try a semolina bread one of these days. I love it for pizza dough, not sure why I haven't connected that to bread.

They snarfed it down in no time - but I think it needed more salt in the dough.

Brought along the baked beans I had made with the Father's Bacon seasoning - gave them a few more minutes in the IP as they were a titch underdone

Also made a pullman loaf at work today

And for myself I made some greens using a much smaller quantity of the Father's bacon seasoning, some onions, garlic and chicken stock, also in the instant pot.

Here is where the recipe comes from - it's the CC recipe but you need to go down a few posts to link to the Saveur recipe.

I worked Monday - it was a total shit show - lucky I got fed at all. But managed to throw together some cornbread and roasted a chicken for lunch in the CSO. (They were $1.99/lb at Sobeys - couldn’t leave it behind)

Today was a little more civilized - I made more cornbread. One of the other docs had left some bananas in the call room - they were at a perfect age to make a couple of loaves of buttermilk quickbread.

Heated some chicken rice soup for lunch with some applewood smoked cheese from Beehive Cheese.

For dinner - chicken thighs with caramelized shallots (make that scallions cause that’s what I had)!

It has been a bit of a shift from hell. I’ve managed to get a couple of minutes to call my own and I went looking through what I have in the call room that I could bake with. I had some whipping cream in the fridge I had some French’s  onions and I had some smoked cheddar. Thought I would make tiki docs cream scones using those ingredients.

Ingenuity, yes and they do look delicious... but I was thinking more along the lines of only Kerry would get a short break in a long and busy shift at work and spend it seeing if she could find herself some more work to do. :D

Yes it is - on sale at Denningers. Made the guy haul all they had out of the cooler to pick the best marbled one with the biggest fat cap. We need some for our trip north!

Buratta with tomatoes and garlic sausage.

I saw this sequence of photos. And my first thought upon seeing the second, with the burrata, tomatoes, and sausage: Damn, that's a weird ice cream sundae!

Duck and green beans - deglazed the pan with Saba flavoured with peach, mounted with butter. Ended up with about 3/4 cup of duck fat.

Someone left cherries in the nurses break room - so it seemed a summer torte would be a good option

Are those break room finds hints or just happy coincidences? :D

Nobody knows who had put them there so I think it was a happy coincidence.
