I can’t stop looking at this picture and drooling!

I’ve always brought home my leftovers. Even when I was young about 5 years old. American serving sizes are generally obscenely oversized and dining out gave my mom two days to have a break. I have never, ever asked for a “doggy bag”. I’m 43. I’ve always just asked for the rest of my meal to be packed up or could I pack it up. I think that term is antiquated.

I will say when I worked at an establishment that had two restaurants and two ballrooms for banquets, that every night whatever couldn’t be easily repurposed was donated to the local soup kitchens. This was 20 years ago. There is a law in NJ absolving restaurants, caterers, etc from being liable for food borne illnesses once the donations were tested to be at the correct temperature before leaving the donor establishment. I worked for a very well known family of restaurants and banquet halls after the first one and they always refused to donate. It’s always bothered me.

This type of steaming of burgers has an almost cult like following in northern NJ— google White Manna. They’re like White Castle but 500x better. They aren’t a grilled burger and don’t pretend to be. They’re excellent. They fill a niche and are great, just as a perfectly grilled burger is great. Definitely worth a try IMO.

This happened to me during a small snow storm. I called the driver, messaged him and got zero response. He still got my 20% tip and I had to haul bags from my neighbors place to mine which made me extremely uncomfortable. I will never use Whole Foods via Amazon again. The picture I was sent was of cement stairs.

Bud light is still plentiful and easily available. With the baseball season just starting up and Budweiser having a stronghold in so many stadiums, they are reaching their peak right now. I wonder how it would hold up in a batter for fish and chips.

Well, I finally “cooked” in my apartment kitchen. 4lbs of baby bella mushrooms, cleaned, chopped, dry fried hot until most water is cooked down then hit with a knob of butter and large splashes of Marsala wine. Of course I don’t have a pan large enough to cook more than 1lb at a time properly, so it took me about 3 hours. I could have made a from scratch sauce and lasagna in less time! Moving forward I’m going to consider what I can purchase that is already cooked or some type of charcuterie to contribute.

it’s my understanding prawns are much larger than shrimp. These look like baby shrimp, not prawns.

I’ve ordered cheese steaks from Pat’s in Philadelphia via Goldbelly. They heated up fairly well. But, to some that’s not a sandwich. So maybe be more specific about what you’re looking for?

Perfect meal for me but I prefer smaller, sweeter west coast oysters.

I would eat both!

I am seriously jealous. I’d be eating chargrilled oysters non stop.

I really want to go. I also really am not interested in taking the train to Manhattan, it’s unreliable and exhausting. If I could find an open reservation on Resy when nothing major is happening in Manhattan, I’d jump on it and take car service. Would even be fine dining solo.

My birthday is St. Patrick’s day and I really can’t stand the typical corned beef and cabbage. This looks amazing— I’d just sub the tartar sauce for malt vinegar. Having people try to push food for a holiday that happens to be your birthday is the worst when you don’t like it. My parents got complaints for years because they didn’t name me Meghan. My name has Welsh origins close enough! 😂🙄

So incredibly sad— her contributions were amazing. RIP.

@Kim Shook Lipton’s noodle soup is an absolute comfort food for me. I remember when they made “giggle noodle soup”. I wish it wasn’t discontinued. Now I want to make Lipton’s soup and it’s verging on Friday during lent. I suppose I’ve done worse things.

That has to be super frustrating! However Jessica is a great cook, no? She knows what is healthy and what isn’t. Zero offense meant because it is extremely frustrating to be dismissed. My experience in the hospital, food-wise was great. I’d pick out my daily menu the night prior and if I didn’t like the meals they scheduled I could always order an omelet or grilled cheese or a burger or a pizza or Caesar salad. I also drank a ton of water, something I continue to do to this day.

Ok fine I get it you all are conspiring to boast about beans. 🤣

I guess I think a pizza is dough and marinara and mozzarella with a few seasonings. A pizza with potatoes? Like can I have some carbs and some more carbs? How is that attractive? Let’s just throw anything on pizza crust and call it a pizza. Fair enough I suppose but that wouldn’t fly in Northern NJ and with good reason.

Can any spam fans compare it to Taylor Ham?

Agreed. Like leave the man his dignity, he’s passed away. I think anyone would hate this type of personal information brought forward. Have some respect.

Wait his wife contributed? I didn’t know that. They were still married but separated when he died. Maybe his wife wanted to give her truth? All the information about HGH and prostitutes doesn’t sit well with me. Apparently HGH is a thing with men who can’t accept aging. I dated a guy who tried to spin it as being healthy. I was like um, I’m a huge baseball fan, I know what HGH is and that’s fucked up.

honestly the noise from the truck is minimal. I sort of get people complaining about the trucks, as they tend to loiter and are acting as adverisements. I only learned about the service because I kept seeing the trucks. But people will of course complain about anything. I think my next order via Wonfer will be for a pizza from Di Fara.

Oh and I like Bobby’s steak sauce. It came in a bottle (not to give back) with all of the ingredients listed which I also appreciate.

I just received a reminder to put the (warming) bag outside with the dishes. Maisey and I are hanging out on my small deck. I’m curious to see if the person who picks up my bag of dishes is the same who delivered the food. Currently, in my area, Bobby Flay’s is the only restaurant out of 21 who provides dishes. The others deliver food in recyclable materials. IMO this first experience is essentially having room service from a high end restaurant at my apartment. It’s definitely not for everyone nor is it something anyone would use daily (they currently only do dinner) but it was an overall positive experience. I expected the steak to be over cooked and cold and it was neither. I have ordered an embarrassing amount of Doordash etc and this was much better than anything I’ve had delivered via the usual apps.
