Never tried hamburger but chicken gets mashed flat to my experience. And why would it not?
-
And is mashed flat when pressure is restored.

Leftover lasagne al forno. @weinoo is less worried than I but Bugialli will never accommodate anything on the plate with lasagne al forno. ...off to watch The Dead Don't Die for the third or fourth time.

Chicken on the Philips has not worked well for me. Yours looks good though.

I would expect the patty would be mashed flat?
-
Serious question: the patty doesn't get mashed by atmospheric pressure?

What did you buy at the liquor store today? (2016 - )
JoNorvelleWalker replied to a topic in Spirits & Cocktails
I stopped at the store this afternoon to replenish Cointreau and rhum. Having turned the apartment upside down last night searching for the Cointreau I bought last month. Eventually I gave up and looked at the receipt. The receipt did not list Cointreau. I distinctly recall taking Cointreau to the counter. Oh well. When it came time to make my mai tai I unscrewed the Cointreau cap. Something felt lumpy. Stinkbug makes a novel* garnish. Sorry, no picture. *if non-traditional. -
Cooking with the A4 Box Induction Cooker: What'd you make?
JoNorvelleWalker replied to a topic in Cooking
I am no meatball expert, but I would think oven meatballs would be more like mini meatloaves? These were fried. The little takoyaki cups are generously filled with butter. My gravy expertise, though, needs more work. As shown in the dinner thread. Would love to hear more about your mother's sauce. -
Swedish meatballs again. Tonight with buttered noodles. Meatballs were still excellent. Noodles were fine. By this stage in life I can reliably make egg noodles. Sauce was not bad, just disappointing. And by the time I got the picture it was cold. However unlike last night I remembered the dill. The meatballs made up for all my sins.

Cooking with the A4 Box Induction Cooker: What'd you make?
JoNorvelleWalker replied to a topic in Cooking
Yes, rotated them with kitchen chopsticks, easy. Two or three times. Meatballs removed from the pan with chopsticks. The nice thing is I didn't have to form the balls by hand. I simply used a Zroll 2050 11/2 inch disher to portion the mixture into each cup. -
A4Box Swedish meatballs, recipe mostly Joy of Cooking: ...along with store-bought pickled herring, prepared mustard, rye crisp. Horseradish grated and prepared by me. Washed down with Duvel. I thought the meatballs were excellent. Hoping they will be so for a long, long time. Recipe made 38, dinner was about half a dozen. Chopped dill still in the refrigerator, totally forgotten.

Speaking of @Rafa, where is @Rafa?

Indeed the Philips is truly miraculous if it can make round palatable. Were it my grocery delivery I would have told amazon I ordered chuck.

Cooking with the A4 Box Induction Cooker: What'd you make?

I decided to try the A4Box. Maiden voyage: No these are not takoyaki. Nor are they neko nabe. They are Swedish meatballs. Relatively little mess. So far I'm pleased. -
They do not seem so inclined. I suspect there are minimum order quantities involved.

My spirits monger called his rep at Hunterdon Brewing Company. No, they do not offer La Favorite. Though apparently they carry Neisson and Ed Hamilton's other brands. So, no La Favorite in New Jersey. If Ed is reading I hope he will remedy the situation.

Lettuce and basil. I am using Click and Grow...this is the Click and Grow thread.

At about 10 days... Not planning my salads yet, but a promising start I hope.
