  1. But didn't Ducasse respond as well in the NYT?
  2. Lou, any comments?
  3. Apparently, Piege, who runs Ducasse's kitchens in the Plaza Athenee in Paris, has been headhunted by the Crillon to boost their flagging star-rating...and he's been replaced by Christopher Moret, who previosuly ran the SPOON kitchen... Link to gastronomie.com article
  4. I'm annoyed when people drink coffee throughout a meal. That's just me, though.
  5. Maybe this?

    Singha Beer

Singha has no taste, but is often the only beer found in many asian restaurants, therefore you are obliged to drink it...
  7. Geoge Clooney is NOT gay! And neither is Burt Reynolds!
  8. No, seriously, I enjoyed the post, though. It's hard for me to believe that another gastronomic cuisine can rival the top French establishments, so I guess I'll have to make a side-trip to El Bulli and check it all out myself!
  9. You can take a breath now, Bux!
  10. What evidence do you have that he's "gone native"? I seem to remember the French outcry when it was announced that Derek Brown, an Engllishman, would be taking the reins of their precious Guide Rouge, do you not?
  11. Funny how the director is English...you wouldn't think he'd have a predjudice for all things French...
  12. Spank you very much!
  13. This is the other Librairie Gourmande, I guess. The one I knew (near my neighborhood) was on the same street as "delights" shop, rue Censier..
  14. Ronnie, why did you dismiss her over what she wrote?
  15. I'd still love to try those White Castle mini-burgers with jalapeno cheese...
  16. Yes, the Art of Eating article. The other one I pointed out, is just a typical Paris Notes article written to make armchair tourists think they have the scoop on "happening" Paris, although they evidently do not have the corner on this profitable market (I'm in the wrong business!)
  17. I wasn't surprised, but she does seem to always be a few months behind the times... I haven't read the Art of Eating article where she dumps on all these guys, do you have a copy?
  18. Sorry, missed that thread...
  19. This article might interest you: Here
  20. Luckily you have a photographic memory!
  21. Speaking of Constant, I forgot to mention another annex he just opened in Neuilly called "Les Paillotes", at 26 rue du Chateau, tel: 01 55 24 90 40. Haven't heard any reports about it yet... Concerning Dutournier's new resto, it will be opened end-September, early October time. Or so they say..
  22. It's probably best that she remain as discreet as possible....
  23. * Alain Dutournier will be opening a new restaurant October-time * Troisgrois will be supervising the Hotel Lancaster's new restaurant (open to all, even non-residents) * Rumors that Christian Constant will open an annex in the Aero Club de France on the Champs Elysees * Marius et Janette will open another restaurant rue Paul Doumer, 16eme * Yannick Aleno will head the kicthens at the Meurice * Gerard Depardieu has purchased Pierre, place Gaillon * Vigato (Apicius) will open a new establishment partnered with Luc Besson More to come...
  24. Here's a link to a pretty good article I haven't seen anywhere before: Enjoy!
