  1. BIG SCOOP! I had dinner last night at L'Atelier, and Philip Braun (chef and part-owner of the restaurant) confirmed that there will indeed be an Atelier London, located in the aforementionned Marriott.
  2. Actually Easycar is very cheap...but read the contract first.
  3. In my opinion, the food is only getting better..Have you eaten there, yet?
  4. Intermezzo Website
  5. Nothing compares to eGullet, though...
  6. That's what they said about the French..... Anyway the Atelier concept was created with just this end in mind, Paris, Tokyo, London, then who knows?
  7. Who said anything about "poor foreigners"?
  8. Collin, from the Ritz Paris serves a "Sidecar" made with an ancient cognac which sells for 450 Euros.
  9. Actually, I had a great meal at "Les Magnolias" in Le Perreux sur Marne outside of Paris. He was compared by Patricia Wells as being similar in what he is doing now, to what Gagnaire was doing in the '80's . One of his starters had pop-rocks in it, but pop rocks in it's pure form, without flavor, just the exploding sensation. Can't remember the rest of the dish, but here's the site: Les Magnolias
  10. I'd love to know how this works with you: When reviewing a restaurant, are you invited, or do you go incognito? Or does it go on the expense account? What are your ideas on restaurant reviewers who announce themselves beforehand, eat free, then are expected to do favorable reviews? And those who do it anonymously?
  11. What's boring? Your report, or Bordeaux itself?

    L'Ami Louis

    Merci pour la confirmation!

    L'Ami Louis

L'Ami Louis is owned by Thierry de la Brosse, a French businessman, who also owns "Aux Lyonnais", with Alain Ducasse. Apparently, a few years back, Louis was having some financial problems, and had to sell off "les murs", meaning, litterally "the walls", or the building structure, and business. De La Brosse also owns, in part, Dutournier's new venture, "Pinxo". I've also heard that he is head of Amnesty International France, but there may be someone else with the same name as well...
  14. Do you come to France, Italy, Spain, etc? And where do you enjoy eating? Where do you want to try next?
  15. Hey, who's that handsome guy in the back of the left??!?

  17. Yeah, fun time had by all. Very happy to have spent what little time I had with everyone. And then to guzzle beer with Constant was the icing on the cake!

    Well, they're different I guess...
  19. A million people showed up. And, when I came home from work, it took me 1 1/2 hours to find a parking space, so in my opinion, it sucked!

  23. All this freedom of speeding is about to change. France has now installed automatic, network-linked radar cameras alongside the most accident-prone highways and roads. In Paris there are 27, and there will be soon 450 or so in all of France, with more to come. These nifty devices catch you speeding, take your photo, and send off the ticket directly to your home address in less than 48 hours. Great!
