My big brother taught me how to slurp spaghetti with that.

I dunno know. How much time did your imaginary Italian Grandma spend in the wilds of Australia?

Thanks. For some reason the link would not work for me but I was able to Google the cookies and it took me to the Pillsbury site. I love Brazil nuts! -
Oh no! They are taking over the world.
-
Thanks. As I suspected it is behind a pay wall. Not a complaint just a statement of fact.

Enjoy this occasionally. About the only time I use ginger ale and it always Canada Dry is to make a shandy.

I thought they had forgotten you!

Well I didn’t find the Wall Street Journal article but I did find this. $300+ for a toaster? What’s up with that?
-
I will see what I can do over the next few days.

Yup. From their very first appearance I was hard-pressed to understand why we didn’t just recycle cardboard as a wrap. I thought maybe it had to do with the quality of the tortillas I was able to get but that doesn’t seem to be the answer. No matter where and no matter what they detract from whatever they are trying to enclose. Those Staffordshire oatcakes on the other hand….

I enjoy skillet toast, as I call it, but I consider it a different animal.

I know that breakfast looks very suspiciously like lunch/dinner yesterday evening. But I’m not cheating. Check the grill marks on the steak. 😂 There is a long, boring story as to how this all came about but the primary impetus I lay on the shoulders of @blue_dolphin I could not dismiss from my mind her casually dropped comment about a little lime juice on some winter tomatoes. That’s my excuse and you will not budge me from it. If I had any sense and was fully awake I would have washed it down with a beer just to confound @chromedome.

Cannot even recall the last time there was a toaster in my house.

The Man Who Ate Everything, Jeffrey Steingarten and Born Round, Frank Bruni. And I have just finished Best Food Writing 2010, 2016, 2017. Also finished Kim Severson’s Spoon Fed.

Late lunch or early dinner. Small strip loin that got to know a generous sprinkling of salt for a few hours in the refrigerator before being slapped on the A4 Box which had preheated for five minutes. That thing gets hot enough to return a lovely sizzle.

@Katie Meadow, @kayb What is this crazy thing you are calling a toaster? Is it like those things they have in the Smithsonian?
-
So are mosquitoes, Gila monsters, earwigs and horse manure. Don’t fancy any of them in my pantry. 😂

You do not need to apologize at all. I have got some real bargains from your postings and it certainly isn’t your fault that Amazon has this crazy policy between the two countries! I suspect even Amazon might not be the culprit but rather copyright laws.

I confess to never attempting to use the CSO. Mine goes into the Breville smart oven on the pizza setting. But I’m curious to know what setting you use and if you are working from frozen or not. I find frozen pizza a godsend when I don’t have whatever I need in the way of stamina to make something to eat.

This is purely my opinion backed up by zero expertise. I would say no most butcher shops would not carry it and if they did would be unlikely to sell you any. If memory serves me well the use of transglutaminase was frowned upon for safety reasons. With the right expertise it could be safely used but I don’t think it is anything that we amateurs should fool around with. YMMV. It all sounded so exciting back in the day.

Also very helpful. Thank you once again.

She never made brownies. She didn’t want to get flour all over that perfect little black dress.

Nice! Thank you.
