Well the white or cream coloured interiors don’t last very damn long after you have baked a few of those no-knead loaves in them.

I keep thinking about an egg curry. I could certainly make it with Japanese curry paste. That would be an easy meal in the coming days. Thanks for the idea.

More likely how many times it is used.

And they call Ontario A Place to Grow. guess they weren’t thinking about parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme. 😂

It becomes blackened beyond repair, the enamel becomes like sandpaper. I wish I could show you but someone else is using mine now to make bread because that’s all it’s useful for and it was a beautiful pan.

It should work for bread but if you’re very fond of it… Baking bread at those high temperatures in enamelled cast iron will leave you with a pen that is pretty much useless for anything else if my experience is anything to go on

Comfort food seems to be the thing at the moment. One of my late husband’s favourite dishes: Danish "Hakkebøffer med bløde løg" basically hamburger with onion gravy (topped with a fried egg).

Plain, two-egg omelet with salsa. Very simple and very good. I have been buying premium salsas and what a difference!

Well apparently there is food in there! I just did one side of the bottom drawer and this is what I found Left-hand side of freezer Loin lamb chops Ryebread Artichoke hearts 8 ounces of ground beef 8 ounces of ground beef 8 ounces of ground pork 1 pound of lamb leg 8 ounces of ground pork Strip loin Four boneless skinless chicken thighs Bread More ground pork Sliced pork belly Rice on And I know there are small duck breasts in the upper drawer along with some scallops and some shrimp. So it looks like I need to order in some vegetables to go with this lot and I’ve rearranged enough so that I could put some frozen veggies in there. Right side the freezer drawer Duck breast Scotch bonnet peppers English muffins Wonton wrappers Frozen peas Garlic Nan Gluten free flour mix Xiao pancake mix She Sheetal peppers Duck leg White bread Duck breast Pizza times 4 White bread Rice English muffins Okonomiyaki flour One slice cooked prime rib Three 100 g portions of pork butt Threw out various things including eight servings of potato leek soup. I didn’t like it when I made it but I didn’t want to waste it.

Really, really hard times.

Well I have not yet started cooking from my freezer. I’m not even sure there’s anything to eat in there although it’s totally full. But I have begun going through it to see what can be tossed and what is still viable. No point in making up a shopping list when there’s nowhere to put the food.

Order them from Red Chillie?
-
I thought it was a national/international brand.

Yes just make up a big batch and put it in a Ziploc and into the freezer. Very handy. I happen to like Jamie Oliver’s version. No oats!

Cheese Toasties made with sundry ends of cheese in my fridge. I would have liked some blue cheese in there but The Blues Keep Getting Bluer. And now I cannot get that ear worm to go away.

Dessert for dinner. It doesn’t have a name nor a provenance. It is a date, apple, almond concoction. I had a Mutsu apple that was way, way past its prime, some dried dates which were getting drier and in the freezer the tiniest little bit of premade crumble topping. It was damn tasty.

I have given up on frozen spinach although it was very handy to have on hand. I don’t know what it is but it seems as if every second bag tastes like fish. Do you have any issues along those lines?

Cannot seem to source that brand around here at least not so far.

I am with hubby. Crisp yes, raw no.

Oh, Teo! I’m sure it would work but it’s not very practical in my case. I have a Joule which I adore because it fits in a very small pot. I am A singleton cooking two carrots at a time I need a practical solution and while everybody is trying to help I still haven’t seen one. and really, really I am not going to try cooking vegetables sous vide again. The reward is just not worth the trouble. Return on investment and all that. But thank you anyway. I am not ungrateful for your efforts.

Well it would be a great improvement on eggplant I can tell you.😂
