  1. It is one of These Different model and different Capacity. Perfect for those who need their tea right now and can't wait for the kettle to boil!
  2. Glancing back a couple of posts to your pork chop I am thinking when I put my (last) chuck eye into the Sous Vide bath shortly I will piggyback a frozen pork chop that has already been Sous Vided and while it warms up I will fry up some peppers and some onions! You know what they say. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
  3. Very satisafactory. Sliced for the freezer. Could not resist a toasted heel with butter.
  4. This was a very simple and classic sandwich bread recipe from king Arthur flour. Here. I was quite limited on what I was prepared to attempt as my supply of flour is now down to very low gluten American all-purpose. I have just put in a grocery order that includes some more bread flour.
  5. Small loaf of sandwich bread which was mixed in the Thermo mix, final proof and baking in the CSO. Will have to wait until I cut into it to determine if I'm happy. It certainly doesn't have much of a dome.
  6. d Inspired by a British book Toast Hash Roast Mash by Dan Doherty. All accomplished in my new and beloved CSO.

    Dinner 2017 (Part 5)

Tiny chicken thighs done in the Cuisinart Steam Oven (CSO). Wondrously crispy skin.
  9. I am reading through all the old threads to see what I can learn and I came across this which I found quite amusing Click

    Dinner 2017 (Part 5)

Nothing shameful on my account though I do understand others might object.
  11. Yes I found that with the oven up north. In fact I think on one occasion @Kerry Beal and I may have come close to fisticuffs over whether we had the rack positions correct. Today I had to study the photographs with care to determine where the tray should be for toast.
  12. Unfortunately I deleted the pre-clean up photographs that I took this morning! I have one big garbage bag full and two charity boxes sitting at the front door waiting to go elsewhere! Much sacrifice to make room for new oven.
  13. @blue_dolphin I am still debating whether it will stay in the position it is will be turned so it is a little easier to use. I am also trying to work around getting rid of that work table underneath the pot holder. It blocks access to the bottom cupboards which I have lived with for sometime but now find very annoying. Anyway after practically working myself to the bone trying to reorganize and tidy up my kitchen to make room for its new occupant I got my just reward: A piece of toast that did not challenge my limited dentition nor shatter into 1000 crumbs on my just-vacuumed area rug. I ate it topped with a mess of Cashel blue! Mmmmmmmmmm. Edited to add I now feel obligated, once I get my second wind, to dig deep down into the freezer drawer and retrieve a couple of small chicken thighs. According to my latest inventory they should be in there. They will be double insurance that it was all worth while. But first I need a nap .
  14. That was my reasoning but not being a gardener of any sort I thought it better not to say anything. But to me they look exactly like the sepals you see on most plants that flower.
  15. There you go and please remember I stand 4'9" tall!
  16. Yup. My link was to Clemson spineless.
  17. I'm working on the problems. Once I get my kitchen in some sort of order I will post a photograph so you get the idea of how impossible it is to find a spot that doesn't create other issues. I have just used my walker to push my Modernist Cusine volumes into the front room. Forgot how freaking heavy they are! I am not WHINNG just sharing.
  18. The only two that seem to operate here are Chefs' Plate which was horrible and Hello Fresh. Mind you I haven't done much research recently so there may be more. No matter what it would only be a fun experiment and not a way to ensure that I am adequately fed. I am much too inclined to do my own thing to last very long on any sort of meal plan.
  19. Well it has now progressed into the kitchen. I have put it through a self clean cycle and I'm now drying it out on the convection bake cycle just to make sure all things work. However nothing will ever get cooked in this thing until I can find some space in my kitchen which now feels as if it is closing in on me. I thought perhaps I could gain some space by moving my microwave elsewhere in the house since its only real use that cannot be duplicated by any other appliance is heating a special disk for my orphan kittens when I get any. But since the microwave is under cabinets it's not an appropriate spot for a steam oven. Then I thought I could put it on the counter to the right of my sinks. But then the steam would threaten my copies of Modernist Cuisine. It is a puzzlement. My whole living space is about 550 sq ft.
  20. Bet we have one on the forum somewhere. Patience, Grasshopper (as they say in Canada).
  21. @liuzhou Did you see my link above?
  22. I have been on the same quest for many years on and off. This is the closest I came.
