Help! I've lost my cooking mojo and I want it back!
lindag replied to a topic in Food Traditions & Culture
As was mentioned by @ambrain an earlier post here I like to browse for interesting recipes and will often stumble onto something that piques my interest and makes me want to whip up a good looking dish or two. -
Eve n though I vowed not to buy any more stuff until after my move I caved when I saw the Jefferey Zakarian 10.5” cast iron pan. Cooked my fried eggs and hash browns in it this morning. Really nice non-stick. It comes with the silicone trivet shown here. And it fits inside my CSO! (purchased from QVC.)

I use one of these for the occasional need of a light for candles .

Things are shaping up now. The tile is done in the bathrooms, the fireplace is ready for grouting and the wood flooring will go in next week. The cabinetry is getting finished up too. By next week I should be able to start taking some photos. The move-in date is now approximately October 1 but I'm pushing the contractor who is pushing the subs. We'll see. It certainly has been an education.

I think I was a target of that one as well. I really appreciate @Smithy's gentle hand.

Yesterday was my day to host our card game. I served a fruit tray with watermelon, grapes, jicama, cantaloupe,. A tray of crackers and cheese. And, the star of the show was KAF Blueberry Crisp with vanilla ice cream for dessert.

I've been a fan since the very beginning and I continue to this day. I watch every episode and subscribe to their web-magazines. ATK and CC are still my favorite cooking shows. Don't get the print magazines anymore though. -
Unfortunately they’re very hard to find around here.

I especially like the Philly whipped cream cheese with chive and onion on toasted bagels.

When we were kids my brother loved canned spinach (no such thing as fresh in those days); to me that stuff was disgusting and slimy. Maybe it was a Popeye thing.

Me too. Most recently in a broccoli salad.

I have neuropathy in my hands and feet (mostly in the feet) from chemotherapy treatments. It is bad and affects my stability. I try everything that comes along in the way of supplements but, so far, it remains. My oncologist told me it usually goes away within six months or so but not in my case.

I do my prep in stages so that I can go sit for a bit then resume work. Due to lower back pain and pressure on nerves that causes my knee to go numb.

Or your back and/ or knees.

I recently bought a battery operated wine cork remover and it is AMAZING!!! This one.

I have some nice shelving units in my garage that I use for kitchen overflow. The woman who is doing my packing for the big household move coming up in early October helped me sort through the canned goods. There was a lot of stuff there that I'd forgotten I had and some of it really wasn't worth the cost to move it. The local food pantry got about half of it.

Okay here’s mine: What’s the best way to cook bacon? while I do like bacon I don’t cook it often mostly because of the lingering smell in the house and the mess it makes.

Thanks. I just called and they told theirs come from Washington state so I’m okay.

On our ski trips in Oregon some years ago our must-have stop on the way up the mountain was to McDonalds for a sausage biscuit breakfast. -
I just got both one red and one white onion in my grocery order last Wednesday, do I need to toss them?

I have a weakness for salty/savory snacks. I polished of a (small) bag of Gardetto's Roasted Garlic Rye Chips yesterday. Then I put two more bags into my online grocery shopping cart. Gardetto's
