I have some nice shelving units in my garage that I use for kitchen overflow. The woman who is doing my packing for the big household move coming up in early October helped me sort through the canned goods. There was a lot of stuff there that I'd forgotten I had and some of it really wasn't worth the cost to move it. The local food pantry got about half of it.

Okay here’s mine: What’s the best way to cook bacon? while I do like bacon I don’t cook it often mostly because of the lingering smell in the house and the mess it makes.

On our ski trips in Oregon some years ago our must-have stop on the way up the mountain was to McDonalds for a sausage biscuit breakfast. -

Does anyone know just why it's so expensive?

The gas range in my current house is my first ever and I've been using it for 15 years now. I do like it except for a couple of things: The heat it creates in the kitchen, The open flame is dangerous, the range top gets dirty and is hard to keep clean. My new house is getting a GE Cafe Induction slide-in range. I'm excited about it. We put a new Kitchen Aid glass top electric range in my previous home (no available gas line) and I liked it just fine, especially how easy it was to keep looking nice.

Eek! I had no idea it was that expensive.

Lately, because of the hot weather, I’ve gotten into sheet pan recipes and I’ve found the perfect summertime easy meals. Fresh vegetables that include asparagus, red onion, radish, carrot, bell pepper and yellow potato wedges. Roasted for 10 minutes (or so) then added some fresh wild-caught cod fillets and back into the oven for another 10+ minutes. Drizzled it with balsamic vinegar and it was wonderful.

I made Sheet Pan Gnocchi last night for dinner. While the vegetables were simply amazing, the gnocchi left something to be desired. I'm wondering what I could substitute for the gnocchi next time that would add more flavor. Suggestions, please?

I was making the dough for KAF's Sourdough multi grain sandwich bread yesterday and while I usually use my bread proofer, it had already been packed for moving day. So I used the old-fashioned method I used to use which was to boil a cup of water in the m/w and put the loaf inside to rise. It was perfect. Now I don't know why I ever stopped using this means.

I made KAF's Clay's Multi Grain Sourdough Sandwich Bread again yesterday. Wonderful for toast as well as sandwiches.

My friend bought some sausages labeled 'bangers' at Costco around St. Patrick's Day earlier this year. Apparently they are a seasonal item there. In checking the Johnsonville website I saw that there is one grocery chain here that (supposedly) stocks them, Albertson's. I don't shop there but I will make it a point to stop in next time I'm near one in town and check for the Irish O'Garlic sausages.

Yep, the only thing I‘ve ever encountered that smelled worse was some cooked broccoli that was kept too long. My cleaning woman thought something had died!

I've been having a yen for baked ziti with spinach and tomato. Bought all the ingredients and today's the day. So what if it's going to be almost 90ºF here. Bless the air conditioning. I literally wither in the heat.
