  5. @Anna N nice but the best by far Mashed Potatoes come from potatoes that are steamed rather than boiled. iPot does this w one click and very fast. of course you have to do a few things after that but its the best for MP's and many other things. provides me w plenty of unsupervised time i.e. Check the stove etc for a glass or 4 of M.R.
  6. for me a key w the basket insert https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007SPKR8U/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 you can pressure steam various veg , esp Root veg Potatoes for Mash ? for P.Salad ? fasster , better why better ? they are above the 1 cup water therefore you are not making Potato soup ie boiling them on the stove. nothing the mater w potato soup but a ton of flavor goes into the water that you toss out if you want full flavored Mash any Mash that's enough but there are many other similar results not everyting meat : not for me unless its a ground meat for a Ragu.

For me , Id greatly enjoy a very well made induction top over a Combi-oven equally well made 30 " would be fine as that's the slot I have in my kitchen and Im a bit allergic to Contractors. on the way to Trader Joes there is this store : https://www.yaleappliance.com it has the highest end stuff that's not just commercial no Rational Combi's ... but they do have those $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ French stoves that cost about 60 K for an additional , maybe 10 K you could get the enamel on the doors to match your favorite shirt of course I might have made up that last bit .... La Cornue http://lacornueusa.com/home anyway I stopped by the other day to see if Combi-ovens had made any progress Miele has a 30 " induction top range w an electric oven that you can plumb in for steam assist baking ie bread very well made I think by looking at it but no Combi-oven so I asked about this Miele is coming out soon with a larger combi wall unit that's 20 " I asked why they dont just meke the Steam-assit oven a combi unit ? the sale person may or may have not known but they thought that Miele might take that rage and make it fully Combi in one to two years Ill never understand why these very high end appliance makeres just don't bit the bullit and do it now 60 K for a a gas oven ? that's well out of date for cooking ? hope anyone that buy this has a prefoeesional chef in residence or really good take out. anyone that spends that kind of money has no idea how to cook.

  11. @flippant that's interesting but Im a bit skeptical ........... why ? Amazon is about the velocity of the sale faster the better right now The Amazonians are Sold Out. See ? I can't imagine them holding back anyway the screen and the screws are an issue for me Back When done in the Home WorkShop I would have been able to deal with this in stride now not so fast but .... that's an issue that needs really to be solved to make the SZ-All a superiors product.
  12. interesting here is the manual you can DL it and look into it you might be able to adjust three different pressures or not but thats different on getting various temps for a slow cooker it would be very nice if you are of the SlowCookerSchool to pic your slow temp for long cooks. I have briefly looked at the manual and as I have the newer NonUltra in the box the newer one might allow your to take into account your altitude. mine , as in many things these days is low.
  13. get the original iPot as mentioned above you then can take your savings for an extra gasket maybe the glass lid as you used to do SlowCooking and of course , the most vital item would be the basket that sits above the 1 cup of water and does pressure seaming. PS is most impressive reason to own an iPot.
  14. I have the feeling with of course no data to support it [ed.: what's new ? ] the the SZAll is either history or being redesigned sor the screen issues. I also have the feeling that the effort being made is towards the Spizall. such a shame I can't figure out how to do things for fun that I don't really need to do w the Spinner Beef jus would have been nice.

  17. yes. if screen changes were not problematic , and as far as I can tell they are .. Id get thesearzall and the TS8000 if they were available now. maybe there is a V.2.0 that solves the screen change problem thanks for pouting out that Id need both for max effect save disappointment if one didn't know about this.

  19. in my area , BOS , a Chef's Life begins season 5 on Sat. Oct 7th. A show on tomatoes. I looking forward to it. Indeed Oct 7th seems to be the date in my area for new series for 5 higher end afternoon PBS cooking shows.
  20. Im thinking about a Searzall. Amazon says 2 - 5 months. and with issues of changing out the screen ................... any idea if these things just have dropped out of sight due not term use issues ?

  24. @HungryChris great idea ! I was surprised that the mannated CB's were cheaper than the water based ones at TJ's by $ 1 / lbs. I didn't use the canola / oliviol they came in and just drained them as needed and added Tj's kalamata. Im going to Aldi's next week or so for the semiannual or annual Mayo Stock Up Ill see what their warted CB's go for
  25. I also recumbent the SV everything video above Ive also leanred a few things from them the Anova bluetooth frequently goes on wall for about 110. I did play w the app for ' fun ' but never use it. I too had the original Anova. Mine was noisy. I gave it to my local library and people " check it out ' to see w SV is for them. consider a beer cooler for your container. I have several in different sizes. easy to move around and store when empty.
