@Darienne you can wash fresh veg carefully , maybe w gloves on etc then spin them in a salad spinner still carefully and allow them to sit for several days I think CDC , back when it was the3 CDC suggested letting " things " sit for a few days 3 ? tomatoes might ripen a bit , at room temp and other dry spun veg in the refrig ? up to you .

however , the strength of a sealed bag is that after SV , using the proper temps and times the contents are pasteurized, and thus will keep for some time in a cold refrigerator if properly rapidly chilled. a big bonus when doing multi-le bags however , ASO might do a fine job for a smaller quantity w/o rigging up your SV system. I see APO as a supplemental SV system. sort of like the currently popular ' single dose ' method

@Katie Meadow I have not done the ' pour over ' technique in ages I thought it was more flash than substance I micro my water until boiling , and am careful to make sure its not super heated ( stir carefully after Miro's it can boil over be careful ) then add freshly ground coffee to the pyrex measuring glass container nifty handle to take it out of the micro and stir and let steep for 3 minutes , stir again and pour into the filter . works well for me. P.S.: AltonBrown Mocri's his water for drip w a chopstick in it which takes care of super heating Sweet&Sour or OyesterBeef he never specified.

I know. thank you for suggesting that i used to Tinker , a lot. I do use an App on my iMac called Little Snitch. you would be surprised the bazillion places that want to connect to the iMac. a few even when there are no apps or browsers open.

" or a few days later. but its very important to know this about SV : you might have gotten your item(s) pasteurized w enough time in The Bath , but please understand you have to rapidly chill those bags as fast as you can , w ice , and a good quantity of it too keep the bags out of The Danger Zone where they can spoil. once you udnerstand that , you are set.

they make very decent grinders i have the AP 30 for my drip very easy to clean makes for a' brighter cup ' i wish them all well
