  1. Ok everyone's tacos look and sound so fantastic!!! I am on a roll cooking but the posting stuff ...well as much fun as I have had making tacos ... a taco pictorial in this box is making my head explode ..so I made a blog and will add the tacos I make there I guess ...it looks so easy when everyone just whips these things out in picture form! my first taco is a simple but wonderful Navajo taco this is easy ..quick to assemble and can be eaten anywhere! the trick is in the pefect fry bread and the beans (my camera takes very light pictures so I am sorry you can not see my beans are actually dark brown )

I have remodeled a lot of rooms and we have one cool room .start from the ceiling and work your way to the floor....floor last always in my rule book....sounds like a great plan you have there!!! I have no compressor it is just kind of a concrete room painted with a door built into our bluff in the basement...it maintains perfect temps for vegetables but not for meet

  9. mindblowing lamb roasting for tacos now ..this however may take a while to show off ..I dont know how you all do this coordinating pictures with posts.. with cooking stuff? I get so sucked up in the process of aquiring all the things I need putting them together and then preparing them ..I forget to take pictures ps I go to a taquerilla to get my corn tortillas ...no way will I make them when someone down the street can kick anglo butt I do make flour ones but corn I leave to the pros..I know they are better than I am!!! no shame in that!

Since this thread started I have completely and almost eliminated plastic grocery bag usage from our lives! honestly thank you!!! my husband and I have both really worked at taking the cloth bags with us and not accepting plastic or paper bags from the stores ..once in a while it can not be helped ..it is amazing how good this little act feels ....especially when I see them in the trees ..in the Puget Sound and on the side of the road ...so sad!!! with all the bags I had saved to recycle (it was a horrific amt I tell you) ..I have crocheted away....(if you go upthread there is a make your own bag link I use that method to make a ball of plastic yarn) ..I cut them up my husband loops and balls them for me and I crocheted them into a mat for our dirty shoes ..when I figure out how to make it not look so crappy (the edges are off and I dont crochet as neatly as Maggie!) I will take a picture ..it used up a TON of bags ..feels sturdy ..supposidly you can wash these things too .... I used all the left over trimmings to restuff my dogs bed and she seems very content! I may try a bag next.... my friends think I have lost my mind btw and are giving me bags now to keep me safely contained

OT Thanks I am checking it out now!!! thank you so much for noticing ...I have so much space and no money but it is such an ongoing labor of love and peace for me right now...I am going to update the pics soon ..everything is growing like crazy now! check out any Hispanic market and just ask how to make some Mojo (pronounced MoHo) style chicken ...if it is a Cuban or Puerto Rican market they will hook you up with various recipes to include some that may even have soy sauce in them! none should have sugar and if they do just omit it because you sure do not need it thanks again for the link
  14. I am hoping it is not a sweet cocktail or nix my idea..thank you Katie for bringing that up ..I was thinking dry and a bit tart for the bagna càuda it would not be good with a sweet cocktail that is for sture
  15. Peanut butter no bake cookies my son adored these I used to make them all the time here is the same recipe I have except I increase to 1/4 cup of cocoa Peanut butter no bake cookies

Costco in my areas are limiting ...but the Korean and Southeast Asian Market rice in my area is not to bad I just saw Jasmine rice for a 50lb just under $20 ..the Korean short grain I like is still with in reason...but the usually huge piles of bags look smaller that is for sure ... then the news was on NPR on my way home from work so I am sure by tomorrow they will be gone or bumped up a lot... at work everyone was saying "we better buy rice" I think am going to live with what happens and adjust to missing rice for a while ... bummer! I dont eat it often but I do adore it
  19. I can soo kick some taco ass this one is on me ...my tacos ... well you have not lived ... sorry I can not plate artfully or take great pictures...but I can make some fantastic tacos... I will some this week and try to show how it is done ...really done .. and I do serve them with real guacamole ..not avocado dip
  20. double the tax and round it up..it falls in the right spot ..considering the gas costs ...in Canada it comes out quite fair...I order food in Canada delivered to the beautiful views so I dont have move ..I can just eat something nice someone brought to me instead of visa versa and just stare as far as how far or the delivery charge ..I just go with the flow ..great service gets a better tip ..some owners just keep the delivery charge hope this helps

  22. Nyleve Baar the Meyer lemon has a great deal more flavor and aroma that the Persian sweet lemons ... I agree I was disapointed tasting a Persian sweet lemon ..very watery and not much flavor...but then I sliced the rest up added them to a bottle of vodka (because they were expensive) and somehow the vodka found a flavor I missed tasting them ...so not a total loss if you find a Meyer lemon try it they are much better than what you tasted

I am having a very bad moon I feel like a cat pulled through a key hole the wrong way and just want to scream at the top of my lungs at everyone who is looking at me!!! for no reason at all ....except the world is very very annoying..... the noise my husband's hair makes just growing is even on my nerves!!!! I am finding solace in corn tortillas... my friend brought me some fantastic ones from San Diego and I am eating one right after another... fried in grease salted well ..filled with cheese ..home made guac and really hot wonderful green salsa ... I appear nice on the outside ..(or so I have been told) but trust me ..I am not nice at all right now I almost got out of bed last night and made some coconut cream frosting ..but took a chill instead
