Chicken with basil cream sauce By pure coincidence I had a craving for steak Diane too! Flank steak, 132 F x 2 hrs. I've found flank steaks to vary a lot in their SV times...some need 3 or 4 hrs. So now, when I buy a flank I do a SV test on a chunk and then write the proper time for that piece of meat on the vacuum bag before freezing it.

Ronco Showtime Rotisserie! How old is that?

What hotel are you at? I've probably been at them all by now.

Everybody has better thrift stores than me. All I see is used underwear and Mr. Coffee.

This mason jar thing should have come and gone years ago. I suppose if they were reserved for moonshine it'd be less irritating. For some reason two other recent restaurant fads...serving plates on a 1/4 sheet pan and using side towels as napkins...don't irritate me me at all. But then I like 1/4 sheet pans and side towels.

Question concerning the use of a European Gas Range Cooker in the USA
gfweb replied to a topic in Kitchen Consumer
240V is do-able, you just need an electrician to wire it. What sort of gas is it set to run on now? -
It's not unlike pizza. If you've never had pizza from the pizza belt (new haven to Philly within 20 miles of I-95) you might be pleased with a lesser product.

Or Pickapeppa sauce over cream cheese. A staple in college in the 70s. With Ritz.

Which is not to say that @Porthos was in any way wrong in honoring that request.

Got the recipe?

After a month of thought...I think the request to never share is unreasonable and puts you in a bad position. Maybe share it but leave out the salt or something obvious...so you honor the request but aren't a jerk.

Sounds lovely . Why let the season define everything? Maybe do a flip on Christmas in July. Or find a way to put pumpkin into it. Or bacon.

This year it's just me and Henry the Airedale. So I'll fool around with some meat and potatoes, drink some beer , mow some lawn, listen to the Phillies and play fetch. A better day than most.

Thanks! served room temp or barely warmed. Cubes are fried red potato "croutons " cranberry dressing is 1tbsp Crosse and Blackwell cranberry chutney , pinch of salt , oil and vinegar. I hoard the C & B which often only shows up at Thanksgiving in stores. It's not regular cranberry dressing...there are spices. Great with smoked pork tenderloin and holiday salads. Amazon has it all year at $12 a bottle which is insane, but one bottle will do about 10 meals so if push comes to shove, I'd probably pay it.

Pulled pork, potato salad, coleslaw. All make-ahead and quick to serve

Vinegar isn't much of a disinfectant. Dilute Chlorox is the thing.

A Philly Indian restaurant has converted to combi ovens for cooking. Wish I had the recipes. http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/the-insider/tiffin-estia-buddakan-hungry-pigeon-lets-eat-20180829.html?arc404=true

Would you rather have baked meat or roasted meat?

I contend that pizza toppings must add grease to t he pizza. So fruit is out. And putting random stuff on pizza dough doesn't make it a pizza any more than any topping put on spaghetti makes it a bolognese.
