On the low end it would have to be the AB&G in Allendale if only for the buffalo shrimp Gazelle in Ridgewood is simple clean foods and a nice setting and I have to agree with Latour...although the first time I looked at their menu I left confused...Foie du Brik tried El Cid in Paramus last night ...to die for cream of shrimp soup, very good seafood in spanish sauce, dry paella....huge portions, fair prices tracey -
today I made a crumble that unbuckled my diet and made me slump...actually I dont even know what to call what I made anymore ....melted butter, cake batter and fresh sliced peaches baked for ever ..at least 75 min to firm up all the way....but it was damned tasty especially compared to mom's costco pudding pie.... oh yeah I baked it in a glass pan ...no wonder it took so long tracey

Interesting topic...since yesterday was my 4th anniversary...My reception wasnt untill a week after the wedding and all things considered thinking back to this date 4 yrs ago all went well....except the reception didnt include "my" cake...my baker was stuck in Vegas...mumsie found me a replacement cake from someone that cancelled their reception...it wasnt very good i think we ate it all though. For our 5th I am going to order a scaled down version of the original design and throw a party. tracey

I got a real kick out of this one. My objection to Mexican food (second to the hotness) is that they serve not TWO starches but THREE at a time: beans, rice and tortillas. But perhaps they don't do this so much in Mexico? ← I was just thinking about this "Mexican" habit a few days ago when I was deciding weather or not to get bread to go with dinner....spaghetti...now before the low carb mental assualt this would have been a no brainer....of course you serve bread with macaroni....at least in NJ.....and yes in my house tomato sauce is a vegetable tracey
