ahh...i had to go back and read again. sorry about the drunken neighbor. but how long does it take to fry a turkey anyway? would you be able to cook it for him? if you wanted to? as for using the grill - i don't see why not, but there's that special gas grill "flavor" that might be worse than used oil, and i wonder how much gas one would go through roasting a turkey? i mean you wouldn't want it on high...so med or low, but then how long would it take? he could spatchcock the turkey which would make things easier.
-
dude...didn't you fry a turkey last year? or were you anti-frying then too? in any case, yes, the same oil can be used for frying several turkeys. i suppose your other option is smoking it? or perhaps rotisserie grilling?

with my mom, it's not just a yes, but a HELL yes. she hates cooking. actually i pretty much cooked thanksgiving from 14 or 15 onwards. so how are those jigglers coming along rsincere?

i use homegrown dried ones i get from my mother's tree. I'm not sure how it compares to storebought dried, but they suit my purposes.

You're definitely too young to have gone drinking at "The Chalet" and may or may not recall a bar in the same spot called "The Dandelion". It's now called JP Mulligans. We're two doors east of that right where Limstone Drive veers off to the left at the foot of the bridge where Rte 5 crosses over Limestone Creek. Our space was once upon a time home to Stanton's Grocery and Meat market but more recently as the Hidy Ochai (sp?) Karate Studio. ← I know exactly where that is! next time my brothe ris up there on leave, i'll have to tell him to come visit you. Congrats again, it's a beautiful space.

take some oil, roast some cumin, chili powder and a half-stick of cinnamon. take the cinnamon stick out and add the rest of the seasoning to the chili. make sure to add enough salt as well.

I too was a big fan of spaghetti-Os and meat ravioli when i was a kid. now spaghetti-os smell like vomit to me, and i haven't had meat ravioli in a while. maybe i'll pick up a can soon. as far as campbells - cream of mushroom, and bean and bacon are my two favorites. i also like the chunky clam chowder and chicken corn chowder every once in a while.

really? the idea of potatoes in my burrito kinda freak me out. But you say it's good huh? altho i bet it would be really good in a chalupa shell.

hmmm. my sonic down here serves the crowns for breakast. altho it might be different at diff sonics, at diff times fo the year. i still haven't been able to coordinate a successful fried pickle chip visit with them.

Maybe the key to enjoying Tater Tots is never having been subjected to them in childhood as a casserole ingredient? ← you might be right, because personally PattyO's nightmare sounds like a good time to me. it definitely beats upma night at my house.

*lol* when i'm hormonal there is no such thing as too salty. besides the ketchup is there to cut it.
-
has to be the scots-irish connection.

I love tater tots. (at certain times of the month). my favorite way of eating them isn't too exciting tho. I like em fried, til really crispy, covered with salt and fresh cracked black pepper, lots. And plenty of ketchup. in a bowl lined with a paper towel.
-
i don't like quiznos. my roomate thinks they are good, but i find them pretty nasty. especially when they throw random inappropriate sweetness in. gross.
-
i've used both. i like the idea of fresh tomatoes, but more often than not, i end up with a watery mess containing lots of skins. so i'm back to canned sauce which is what i grew up with. much smoother and more consistent.

lebanese market in Atlanta? we have one of those? oh and i didn't realize garlic was missing. good call carolyn.

god i can't remember. i started cooking dinner for my family every night, when i was 13 or 14 yo. i do remember my first full on thanksgiving dinner for my ex tho. i spelled i "heart" you in marshmallows on the sweet potato casserole. oh wait - i also remember the first meal i cooked for him. eggs. big mistake. i should have sent him home hungry. instead he stayed. *sigh*

vegetarian or vegan? i typically have pad thai with tofu in it, but it also contains eggs.

well i thought maybe it was an anaphylactic reaction to mold. (chest tightening/esophagust swelling). but just certain blue cheeses and certain red wines....that's strange.

i'm gonna give guava a try next then. i've been fixated on Foco Coco for a while now.
