Chef Ludovic Lefevre has left L'Orangerie to open his own restaurant in Venice Calif.  His restaurant decor may be a little less formal with a touch of rustic, than L'Orangerie, with the same style of food.

A November 2002 newsletter from James Beard noted that Ludovic Lefebvre plans to open his own restaurant in Santa Monica, "where he can make a more personal statement, right down to the name -- Ludo"

Meanwhile, back in the swim of sushi, Sushi Ike at Hollywood & Gower is pretty good. Small neighborhood place. Don't order the combo plates--taste premade. Go with selections of individual stuff. More expensive that way but way better. Had an intriguing appetizer of monk fish liver. Almost like a cake of it, not at all like ankimo sushi.

I'm hollywood and I approve this message.
