Juicing carrots (and other vegetables) without a juicer

I'm making a carrot "essence" sauce that calls for quite a bit of carrot juice to be reduced down to a syrup. This can be quite toilsome without an electric juicer. I've tried pureeing them and pushing them trough a chinois but the yeild isn't all that high. That, and the blisters on my hand are starting to get annoying. Anyone know of a good way to do this?

maybe robo them, stick them into some cheesecloth and twist the top to extract the juices? or perhaps cook, puree, then squeeze through chinois?

does this come in pork?

My name's Emma Feigenbaum.

Try peeling, cutting into smaller pieces, putting in a blender, add a little water, and blend, then strain in cheesecloth. The blender will pulverize better than the robo. Or just go to Wholefoods.

Thanks for the suggestions. The robo/cheesecloth thing worked quite well. Also, yelling at the carrots was highly effective.
