Breakfast! The most important meal of the day (2004-2011)

Most schizophrenic breakfast ever! Bought a whole salmon yesterday and broke it down for the freezer. So i couldn't resist some salmon sashimi, however the wife wanted a grilled cheese - so as always we ended up eating each others anyway. It was so wrong

Prawn, Bite your tongue! Never use the words "wrong" and "Salmon" in the same sentance. Especially in combination with "sashimi" and "breakfast"! This IS egullet, and that IS mouthwatering. My kinda way to waik the tastebuds in the morning. Yum!

Mona & Doddie, greak looking morning fare. Bacon and sausages, God Bless the Pig!

Brenda

I whistfully mentioned how I missed sushi. Truly horrified, she told me "you city folk eat the strangest things!", and offered me a freshly fried chitterling!

This is our first opportunity in a long while to contribute to this most beautiful orgy of runny eggs and pork byproducts. Unused Mexican chorizo and the last of the amazingly flavorful heirloom tomatoes inspired today’s breakfast. The eggs were pasteurized, so I scrambled them very "loose."

PercyN: Great (or at least egg-and sausage-obsessed) minds think alike, apparently.

Huevos con chorizo, salsa Mexicana, feta cheese, multigrain tortillas

Brenda, it was the combination of salmon sashimi and grilled cheese sandwich that was perplexing to me! For breakfast i like to ease myself in, heck at what time of the day when would this combo be acceptable? :hmmm:

Okay, scratch that, it would probably work well after few pints down the pub!

Avoid cutting yourself while slicing vegetables by getting someone else to hold them while you chop away.

Shelby, that looks GOOOOD..

Lebanese breakfast today; labneh (homemade yoghurt cheese) with olive oil, thickly sliced fresh tomatoes, pickled chillis and pita bread.

Some sumac and dried mint sprinkled on the labneh just before eating.

No pictures, but today was an two eggs, over easy, each on half of an english muffin. I've had oatmeal pretty much every morning for several weeks... nice to have something different.

Everyone's breakfasts look so good!

rare.........that looks amazing, will have to try that cheese.

A couple of mornings ago....Left-over pork tenderloin, fried, bits gravy, and re-fried smashed reds. Love it when dinner doubles as breakfast.

Nothing is better than frying in lard.

Nothing.  Do not quote me on this.

nonblonde, labneh is spectaculary easy and yum, do try it! Just stir a little salt into a tub of store-bought Greek yoghurt and drain it through a cheesecloth-lined colander in the fridge overnight and voila - it's essentially just yoghurt with the majority of its liquid drained out. I also often roll it into balls and then roll the balls in crushed chilli, mint, crushed peppercorns etc and store them in a jar of olive oil.

Today's breakfast - giant Greek lima beans sauteed with onion, bacon, garlic and chopped tomato, adorned with a very runny fried egg. Apologies for the blurry pic.
