Caramelized Shrimp

FragileX

Recommended Posts

A few days ago, I cooked some shrimp in my cast iron pan with a bit of vegetable oil.  The shrimp turned out fine.  However, residual heat in the pan continued to cook stuck-on shrimp pieces.  I noticed when wiping out the pan later that the bits-of-carmelized-shrimp-in-oil smelled DELICIOUS.  Does anyone know of a recipe that takes advantage of this flavor?

Following up on what scubadoo97 said, it sounds like the great start for a sauce to go over rice or vegetables, or simply the shrimp themselves. That isn't exactly a recipe, though. I'll look around - and I hope others do too - to see about finding something more specific.

Welcome to the eG Forums, by the way!
