Help with KitchenAid coating pan attachment

I have the pan that fits on the Kitchen Aid made by deBuyer. The DR pan is their own manufacture so I haven't tried it. The deBuyer pan I think will hold up for quite a while.

I have the D & R pan. Holds up quite well. Not much to it really, two bowls, one with a hole in it, the other with the attachment shaft, clipped together with 4 "office depot" style clips.

The rounder the object you want to coat, the better your results will be. I gave up on almonds and have had good sucess with hazelnuts--also because they grow locally.

Thanks Kerry & EdwardJ! I've never panned before, and it's a little intimidating. The deBuyer pan looks like it's better quality, but I'm in Canada and can't find a source for it here.

EdwardJ, what model KA do you have? Does the panning attachment fit all models?

I have the D&R pan. Has given pretty good results with almost everything. Works best if you can keep the ambient temperature between 16-19C. Let me know if you need any tips. It's a mix of art & science.

The DeBuyer Pan Coating System (for the KitchenAid) looks like a great option to get started panning, BUT i'm a bit confused. Both these websites describe the attachment like they're the same, BUT they've got different pictures.

Would you mind telling me the DeBuyer pan's approximate dimensions?? Basically, if it's the 16" diameter, width 9 1/4" and front opening of 9 3/8", i'll buy it today.

Thanks!!!!!
