Searching for a different topic, I re-stumbled on this thread. It may be blasphemy but I have been thinking of a 5 inch chefs knife. I can't see the purpose (I caught myself from writing "point") of a petty because none I've seen allow for a pinch grip while keeping one's knuckles off the table. This desire for a small chefs knife was fresh in my mind last night as I was slicing garlic cloves with a pairing knife.

Whatever my faults I don't do takeout.

Preheating indoor oven at 288C for an hour with no air conditioning is not a probability.

Open toed would have been better but the shoes were a lovely touch. I still have one of those industrial potato cutters in my amazon cart, but I fear my double-fried potato days are done. Now I buy frozen. I don't always even deep fry. Particularly if I am cooking something in the APO. My kitchen does not have the electrical capacity to run both the APO and the Paragon at the same time. Sadly oven baking cannot compare to hot oil.

Guardians of the Galaxy would be my choice as well. Movie here tonight will most likely be Spiderman No Way Home. No idea what to eat for dinner.

Are the anchovies cleaned or whole?

The recipe I mentioned above called for spreading the hot, very stiff polenta out on a baking sheet, cooling and then using a round cutter to make circles before baking. Often as not I'd just cut the sheet of polenta into squares. Not as pretty but works equally well.

Though I can't see any rice.

My Blendtec has a sound reduction enclosure, which helps. When I was an undergraduate we were purchasing a new homogenizer for the lab. When we had a demonstration from the company, someone remarked the device made a lot of noise. The salesman replied "Noise? I don't hear any noise?" He was smiling as he said it.

You are forgetting Kerry! Though whether Kerry actually uses her homogenizer is an open question. And remember my homogenizer has a motor unit built by Bamix. I don't have much call for an immersion blender but if the price goes down I think I will take @weinoo's suggestion for the Breville.

Thank you. Mine is closer but it is still too far for me to get to.

As I said, I once tried to find the nearest Aldi store without success. Admittedly I did not try exhaustively hard because, wherever it was, I was pretty sure I could never get there. I am not too young to remember when grocery stores wanting my patronage printed their addresses on the weekly circulars. For sanity I just checked the Shoprite circular, and while they did not list the GPS coordinates of the stores, at least they gave the townships to which their circular applied.
-
Then what's the point of advertising?
-
Map of the area where the local stores are. I sincerely doubt even nationwide chains print weekly circulars covering the whole country. Else how would they know to flog Hellmann's or flog Best's?? In my experience Shoprite won't even honor prices advertised from the next store over. A while back I went to the Aldi website printed on the Aldi circular but the website was of no help locating the Aldi store.
-
I'm not sure. The only one I checked was Aldi.
-
I receive Aldi ad circulars in the mail. But wherever the Aldi actually is I'm pretty sure I cannot get there. And I'm not entirely sure I'd want to. They don't even mention their location.

Thank you for the link. I think. I cringe at $300 for free shipping.

Just put up today there are signs along the highway proclaiming construction of a new amazon Whole Foods market. Not that they have not been promising this vaporware Whole Foods for years. If true, the new Whole Foods will be closer and more convenient to me than Shoprite. I wonder if it will be one of amazon's new cashierless Whole Foods locations? Nonetheless I look forward to an alternative source of limes to break Shoprite's monopoly.

It's that time again...an Echo Smart Plug at half price.

But here in NJ I've never seen Duke's in a store back before forever.

Maybe someday I will learn to post while sober. Till then this makes no sense to me. Sure, water has a higher density than steam, but water cannot get hotter than its boiling point. As anyone who owns an APO can attest, steam can get far hotter. Furthermore steam cooks by latent heat of condensation.

I have never seen Duke's locally for sale.
