Far be it for a Brit like me to debate with someone who can state with conviction that they know the tastebuds of a Frenchman.

Perhaps not what one would choose to celebrate days of dental challenges with but it has some substance to it. The bun as @Katie Meadownoted elsewhere was disgusting. I might have to try that flour tortilla trick she mentions in the Dirty Water Dogs topic.

Had to look up Callissons. They sound very interesting.

Well apparently my claim is still under review. I just spoke to another representative today and she says it takes at least a week to review a claim. This is "unacceptable in my eyes. I have a useless air fryer occupying space and no idea when I might have one that is actually functional. I think Cosori will pay dearly for this if it's happening too many others.

I could not find a topic that addressed this meal delivery service where no cooking is required other than to reheat. This is a very expensive proposition and probably not one that I will use going forward. This was my first meal - miso glazed salmon, black rice and roasted vegetables. There was also a very strange sauce which looked like mayonnaise but was incredibly sweet. Based on this one meal there would be no repeats but unfortunately I ordered three meals so there are two more to go. On reflection I must admit that salmon was not a wise choice. I read reviews and almost& all of them were positive to the point of disbelief. What are people eating that they think this is good?

Lunch today had to be a bit of a compromise due to my ongoing dental issues. Kerry had the Sucuklu Yumurta - Turkish sausage and egg. I had the Menemen -- somewhat similar to Shackshuka. I hope the denturist is making progress!

Tiny potatoes cooked in chicken stock then drained and tossed with Danish blue cheese and pepper.

Kimchi and cheese omelette with chili crisp. Very tasty.

I don't find this a very fruitful discussion. You are perfectly at liberty to hold your opinion and I find no real need to defend mine. Beef Bourguignon Is classic.

To each their own, of course, but that is just a beef stew to me.

Given that one usually cooks the pearl onions and mushrooms separately, I suppose it can seem a bit fiddling and creates more dishes. But I always considered it well worth any time it took.

So I am quite prepared to show my foolishness to the world. It has never occurred to me that one might choose to eat tamarind for itself. My only knowledge of it comes from recipes where it is used as a flavouring agent. I used to purchase it in blocks much like you can purchase dates.

Faced with the challenge of feeding myself for a few days without any ability to masticate and without an opportunity to stock some suitable soft foods, I decided to challenge myself. Well-seasoned rice (ginger, garlic, chicken broth, soy sauce) topped with scrambled eggs, a drizzle of sesame oil and some chilli crisp. Went down very well.

Two 6 1/2 minute eggs. Feeding myself for the next few days will be challenging. Dental issues mean I will be eating food which can be gummed to death! 😂

It may have had some amusement value had one known that there was such a thing as pie week. Here. but I'm afraid I just can't see the humour in it.

It's actually 13% tax. This is for prepared food. So the taxes on the food the delivery and the packaging.

Goods and services and harmonized sales taxes

Although this is not for a meal kit but for fully cooked meals the additional costs really raise the price to an unconscionable level. This is for three main courses. In Ontario we do not pay taxes on fresh food. The packaging fee will be refunded should I decide to order again.

Sautéed split Smokies and yu choy. I am totally addicted to chilli crisp.

But the product, Alpro, appears to be European.

Suspect this is a European product and the FDA will not be much use.

So do I but that doesn't mean that one can't try to feed the eyes as well. After all is said and done we feast with our eyes first.

So today I was actually able to stay on the line for 35 minutes when I was able to speak to a representative for at least as long as that. I am not sure anything has been resolved. I was told to keep an eye on my email in case they needed additional information to complete the transaction. The person I spoke with was very patient but I could recognize in her voice that she was perhaps not enjoying this job! My call was routed to the USA so that I was speaking with an American representative who was having difficulty with my Canadian address but we did resolve it. With so many recalled in Canada you think they might have a Canadian set up to deal with the recall. I suspect that Cosori is liable to lose quite a number of fans over this. They might save an awful lot of money by just settling most of these claims quickly and assuming that most people are honest. But what do I know?

Breakfast not dinner but regrettable nevertheless in terms of being photogenic. Intention was an omelet stuffed with kimchi and marinated artichoke hearts. Actuality was this dogs dinner served with some chilli crisp. Sometimes visual issues are an advantage!
