Bratwurst – – no muss no fuss. Similarly hard boiled eggs.

So this morning I finally got an email tthat my request for a replacement has been approved. That's the good news. Then there is the news that it will take up to three weeks to get this new one to me and if I would like to track the progress I need to login using my email address and my registration number. However, they failed to make it possible for me to log in anywhere on the page and I was most amused by this And their assumption that after all this nonsense I remain a loyal customer!

Sorry, I missed your comment about the food pantry and have repeated the suggestion.

Provided they have not expired why not donate them?

Frozen vegetables nuked and topped with grated or crumbled cheese make a fine meal when time or energy are in short supply.

If you are craving the taste of beef then eye of round is not the answer. Without fat very little of the beef flavour comes through. You might consider a small portion of a more expensive and tastier cut of beef. Speaking only for myself I find that a small portion of a very flavourful protein satisfies more than a larger portion of something like eye of round.

I had forgotten how good chicken adobo could be. I cooked it in the A4 Box ceramic insert. Served over some leftover rice. Given the few ingredients and simplicity of preparation it is no wonder this dish is so popular in the Philippines. (Google brought it to mind!).

After three miserable meals from a food delivery service I decided I needed something tasty for dinner tonight. This did the trick. Kimchi Jjigae from Owl of Minerva.

So my granddaughter had to retake all the damn photographs and resubmit the damn claim. I am beyond annoyed. This was purchased through Amazon so there is even a legitimate purchase order and invoice and still they question me.

What happened to Lea & Perrins White Wine Worcestershire Sauce?
Anna N replied to a topic in Kitchen Consumer
Interesting. I have never heard of it in either of its two appearances. Certainly if you look at the UK company site there is only one sauce made by Lea & Perrins and that is the original Worcestershire. -
Good point. Definitely delivery only.

This was the last of my order. I had high hopes for this. It was labelled "Cajun butter and peppercorn steak and green beans with roasted potatoes". The green beans were close to raw, the meat was no steak that I recognized and the potatoes were just boring. It occurs to me as I puzzle over this inability to deliver appetizing meals that the problem lies in the nature of Western cuisine. @liuzhouis able to order quite a variety of more than acceptable meals in China and those who travel on the Asian airlines seem to get very satisfactory dishes.

I would be more than happy if the buns were as sturdy as a slice of white bread! The ones I currently have simply disintegrate.

Looking at the prices of some of these books I'm guessing many of us will be making better use of the libraries!

This is the second of the three meals I ordered. Labelled as a honey garlic beef bowl with Asian vegetables over japchae noodles. Not quite sure how one determines the ethnicity of a vegetable but I didn't notice anything that I would consider Asian. There were a few nuggets of chewy beef. Given that each of these meals cost ~$24 (when taxes, packaging and delivery are factored in) it was hard to consider this value for the dollar - not that it is promoted as budget food! But neither does it come anywhere close to meeting my idea of a meal I'm anxious to encounter. Not quite as bad as the hospital food I was subjected to earlier but only minimally better.

When I told @Kerry Bealabout my morning disaster she brought up butter as her microwave nemesis. Here's the thing - I know perfectly well that even heating tomato sauce on the stove top is likely to leave splatters everywhere if you are not very careful. When I ask myself what was I thinking the only answer is I was not. My microwave is old and noisy else I might've heard some action and stopped sooner.

You may or may not notice that I rarely post a pasta dish. I am not a fan. I am especially not a fan of one that is tomato based. (A lifetime of Indifferent bowls of spaghetti and meatballs.) Sometimes I leap onto an idea without really considering if it's appropriate for me. This was OK but not something I care to repeat.

Congratulations! Thanks. I am sort of losing hope. There has been no change in the disposition of my request for replacement despite it now being seven days since I spoke with someone.

Thanks. This was quite simply a case of putting engine in drive before neurons were engaged.

I will never again attempt to heat some jarred tomato pasta sauce in the microwave. Clean up continues.

Thanks. I have made my own buns in the past. It is no longer a viable option.
