    Natural casing hot dogs (oh SNAP) with roasted potatoes. Served with German mustard that I found in World Market.

    DH does not mind over cooked white meat as well. So I cook dark meat to my liking, the breast be damned. And we live happily ever after.

    Pork chop stuffed with feta/parsley/garlic/green olives/peanuts with sweet potatoes
  8. Mozzarella di buffalo cilegene, pecorino Romano, Brie so ripe that I had to scrape the crust off.

    Sometimes I have a feeling of gloom boom and doom. Which is a lot better than a classical Russian depression/disaster. It is usually short lived and almost always can be alleviated by cooking. Which is what you did. Cheers!

    Oh how I crave local asparagus... So for now we have scallops and (not local) asparagus with brown butter

  18. WF in Pentagon City that I can walk to is also full of ready made food which is not what I am looking for. WF in Clarendon has a lot more fish, meat, veggies, bulk food. Both are in Arlington, VA.
  19. I was visiting my son in NJ this weekend and met with @JoNorvelleWalker. I hope Jo does not mind me sharing this. We went shopping at McCaffrey's grocery store in Princeton. What a pleasure! I wish I could buy perishables but it would be a very long time before we got back to VA that night. I wanted everything! Marbled beef. Sweet breads. Fatty pork. Calf brains. Shad. I wish I had someone like Jo near where I live to go to the grocery stores with.

    Kotlety (Russian style meat patties) with rice and sautéed mushrooms. Mushrooms were rescued from the office catered salad that was destined for garbage bin.

    Tai snapper with cauliflower and mint yogurt sauce.
  23. @caroled it is actually rather good. My brother in law who is Italian and a real chef has recommended it. Not too sweet and very smooth.

    We were in Port St Lucie, FL. Snake came back to say hi this morning. I know it kinda looks like a bird but it is a snake in the water.
