  1. Yes, we do have them here. I thought "popping" was part of the name which is why I was a bit perplexed.
  2. Staff Note: This was split from The Air Fryer Topic. What are canned "popping" biscuits?
  3. Good article. I have a few books like that. Sometimes I'll buy a cookbook because I think it will be great (e.g. I have one on risotto) and find there is not one recipe that appeals to me. I'm not sure why it's still on my bookshelf.
  4. I love those things. I usually butter them on the cut side and "toast" them in a frying pan on medium-high heat. The cut side is nice and crispy and the bun is heated through.
  5. Does this help? https://www.mamaknowsglutenfree.com/easy-gluten-free-bread/
  6. Wow! That is one big Pomelo.
  7. Me too. And a few that aren't on that list.

  9. I'd say your GF has excellent taste.
  10. @chromedome. I love your, um, weird sense of humour!
  11. A little while ago I had some apriums that were getting soft so I pureed them, added a bit of sugar and stuck it in the freezer and promptly forgot about it until today. I spun it on sorbet and it only needed the one spin. It is a bit soft but we ate it anyway. It was very tasty.
  12. I too remember them from Spam cans.
  13. Welcome to the forum, @xDraug, it's a great place.
  14. I can't bring myself to buy the Itty bitty chicken wings you see in grocery stores because I look at them and think "those poor little chick's never had a life". I do, however, buy them at the Costco Business Centre. They sell big chicken wings. As for the grilled cheese sandwich, they air fry up really crispy and even better, both sides stay crispy as you eat it. No flabby underside.
  15. @blue_dolphin. When I first got the Breville, I tried air frying things like chicken wings and French fries, both regular and sweet potatoes. Everything stuck to the basket and when I tried to loossen the food the skin came off the chicken and pieces of potatoes stuck to the basket. This happened even when i used a food spray on the basket. I found it also cooked unevenly. Since he BSOA replaced a BSO and I did not buy it for the Air function I didn't really care that the air frying function didn't work for me. I'm very happy with my recent purchase of the Vortex Plus Air Fryer. My wings come out perfectly crispy and I love that I can stick an egg in there, time it to hard cook and walk away. This things like tator tots turn out nice and crunchy and I love the grilled cheese sandwiches. I don't do anything exciting with it but for what I use it for. It's great. As a final note, the air fryer is much faster than the BSO"A" ever was.
  16. Being the squash lover that I am, I'd be ecstatic to be in a place like that.
  17. I made this tonight for dinner. I thought it was terrific John thought it great at the beginning but a bit too sweet by the end. I used homeynut squash, next time I'll use a squash that is not as sweet. I adapted the recipe for the IP and that worked nicely. Thanks for the recipe @Okanagancook!¡
  18. I recently made Biscoff-Stuffed Brownies from Small Batch Bakes. John liked them, I did not particularly care for them. I'm not a big brownie fan to start with and these were VERY dense.
  19. Today I made Sweet and Salty Chocolate Cake. from Small Batch Bakes. Since the measurements are in grams, it was easy to scale this to one layer. It was (is) delicious helped by the dulce de leche buttercream. It's a keeper.

    Air Fryers

I'm chiming in to say that I have the BSOA and the Vortex Plus. They are each good at what they do but the one can't be compared to the other. I have never been happy with the "Air" part of t he BSOA and now never use it for that purpose. When it comes time to replace the BSOA, if I replace it with another Breville I would not get the "A" version. Just my 2 cents worth.
  21. Could you elaborate on blanching the squash? Time? Skin on or off? I'm thinking it might be a good thing to do with my thinner-skinned squash, e. g. delicata.
  22. You're going to be one busy lady!
  23. When you say vanilla biscuits are those wafers or something else?
  24. Oh, wow! Do you have a recipe you are able to share?
