  1. I have tried the oven a few times now, and my limited experience has been good except for the time when I made pizza. Operator error was such that my freshly baked pizza decided to stick to my pizza stone and said pizza landed on the lower oven rack. It wasn't pretty. I do have a couple of questions: Is there a guideline for how much steam to use and when? Is there a guidelines for where the rack(s) should be when baking/roasting etc.? I have been assuming that since this is a convection oven, the temperature needs to be adjusted downwards. I have had mixed results with this. Should I be adjusting it? Only when using the rear fan only? When do you use the oven with both top and bottom elements on? The skinny little booklet that comes with it doesn't say. I presume all baking, including pies and cookies are done with only the rear element on? My only quibble so far with the oven is not the oven itself but with the instruction booklet. I would have liked more/better instructions.
  2. At least they were upfront about it.
  3. As for me, I'm not a Twitter, instagram or tictoc user. I occasionally watch a YouTube and I have a Facebook account I rarely post to as I use it mainly to follow a couple of things I'm interested in. I check it a couple of times a month.

  6. I think of it as 4 or 5 lazy bubbles breaking the surface.
  7. After I wrote the above post, the oven arrived! It has been unpacked and is resting comfortably on it's very own little table. It is currently busy baking the 2nd Swirled Jam Cake I have made in my life. Thank you @blue_dolphin for the recipe.
  8. We too got a refund. Thanks for the heads up!
  9. Is the meat usually wrapped when using the sous vide setting?
  10. At what temperature and heat setting did you sous vide the pork? BYW I got my perforated pan today. The oven looks to still be in B.C.
  11. This Swirled Jam Cake from Snacking Cakes is very versatile. Note the blueberry nutmeg and plum cardamom cake ideas on the page. She also has a Peanutbutter and Jam Cake that's kind of fun. The author of that book, Yossy Areft has a lot of recipes on the NYT Cooking Site.
  12. I don't know what they are doing in Canada, but we were told that they would honor any price reductions for 100 days. Please let us know how your chat goes.
  13. We haven't tried ours yet. I'll post when we do. Did you eat the skin?
  14. Yes, the turban part is edible.
  15. That sounds delicious. I had forgotten about this topic and so had posted the picture of this year's squash haul elsewhere. I'll post them below, in it's proper topic. We are having the last of the delicata tonight with roasted chicken thighs, gravy, stuffing and said squash.
  16. Maybe you need to upgrade to Cheez-It's?
  17. The cake is delicious. I did add some nutmeg and lemon powder to the mix. When I told John I was making it I got a less than enthusiastic response. He does not like jam in stuff. Anyways, we each had a piece and he declared it delicious and said he would happily eat it again. So thank you, @blue_dolphin for the recipe.
  18. I don't often see a post, get off my butt and then rush into the kitchen to make something the post referenced. This happened today, after looking at the Swirled Jam Cake recipe. I made a half recipe. The jam I used was raspberry and billberry, which I had purchased at Ikea.
  19. Looks like a fabulous meal, beautifully plated.
  20. It tickled my too, although possibly not in the same way.
  21. I just knew that if anyone got a chuckle out of my post it would be @Anna N. You gotta wonder why they would ship the pan before the oven.
  22. I just received a notice that my perforated pan has shipped. No word yet on the oven.
  23. Well hallelujah, praise the Lord! I finally managed to order the oven tonight. I have to say, though, that I find their customer service lacking. Very slow to call back (48 hours) I averaged about 8 hours between asking a question via e-mail and getting a reply. Also, they will not take orders over the phone. That said, I'm looking forward to getting it.
