Has anyone seen just the breast of the turkey for sale?
-
Steve!!!! I'm dying over here. I'm out of boudin. Really need to order some. Yours looks AMAZING. German brats night before last I needed pasta last night--venison sauce on top. Salad of course to go with.

Misfits delivery yesterday. They started offering "Perks" a while back. You get points for each item you order. They accumulate and they give you different options for if/when you want to cash them in. Free items....money off etc. I chose to get $35 off this order. Thought that would be a good time for another wine order. You get a free cork remover. Beautiful green beans and leeks. Our hunter friend arrives on Nov. 30th so I'll be placing a largish order before that.

Holy crap. I wouldn't know quite how to handle that. I get stressed just cooking for two lol. I channeled my inner @Kim Shook and started gravy prep

Hi!! Sorry for the delay in replying. They are great little dishes. The inner dish measures 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 inches. Counting the handles they are 6" wide. I can easily fit 4 of them in the CSO. I did a Google picture search to see if I could find a link for you to buy them but the only one that matched was on Poshmark and they were sold already . I wish I could be more help.

Wow that is a thing of beauty! The meats too!

Yesterday was the end of a string of not fun things to do (hopefully). Today I am decompressing and hopefully will do some cooking/baking in a bit. Night before last I found some boudin balls deep in the freezer. So breakfast it was. I was worn out after a periodontist appt yesterday --turned a venison roast into stew and took one of those take and bake sourdough loaves out of the freezer. Easy.

I like the cheap stuff....I really wonder what the expensive stuff tastes like. So, put me in the cheap date category too....I mean, I drink boxed wine....

Yeah, you're right. I remember that!

@liamsauntI'm so sorry for your loss. I'm not good at words like the others here are but I know your mom will be with you...... We've decided to stay home again for the holidays this year. It's safer health-wise for us (me especially). I hope my in-laws understand.....if not then I can't do anything about it. I'm still making my usual bread and we will drop it off over there on Thanksgiving morning. Anyway, Ronnie bought a turkey yesterday. It's thawing -it's in the garage hanging up and it's really cold so it's probably not thawing much lol. We're going to brine it then I plan on doing half of the breast SV and then roasting a quarter in the steam boy. The rest we will freeze for later. I would like to find a really good gravy recipe......before I freeze the rest of the turkey I could use some bits for that. Still pondering side dishes. Thank you @Smithyfor linking us to all of the older threads. I'm going to start reading now to get some new ideas--or some ideas that I've forgotten about.

I used to make a crust for pot pies that had cream cheese in it. It was good and I never failed at it but I can't find the recipe now (typical of me). All other crusts, I suck at. I've tried. My Grammy made the best crusts in the world. My M-I-L makes a good one, too. Crusts and biscuits are two things that I'm just not good at. Yay for Pillsbury lol!

🤣 I'm on her side although I think you should have tried it on and taken a picture for posterity. I love that you can leave everything out like that and no one will steal it. I'm afraid that wouldn't be the case some places around here. Those are some huge raspberries!

Neither can Ronnie

I love the compliment but I cannot lie lol. It's Pillsbury refrigerated crust 😬

This doesn't look like much, but it was good--stuffed portobello mushrooms. Spinach/Italian sausage/tons of cheese. Pork pot pie to use up the rest of the pork and veggies from the other day. The mid-size grocery store has an excellent sale going on this week. Ronnie bought a 10 lb. bag of uncut NY strip, a 6 lb. ham and a turkey (turkey was 59 cents a pound if you spent an additional $25) for just over $100 (and that included a few other groceries). So we spent some time yesterday cutting and packaging meats. Had to have ham and Swiss on rye last night.

So, last Friday Ronnie had a colonoscopy which meant Thursday was "clear" liquids only. They used to ban anything red colored but this time it was ok. Anyway, in trying to do all I could to make him something he might like, I made two different boxes of jello. He took a couple bites and that's it. I know...it's just jello, but any ideas about a dessert type thing I could make with already jelled jello?

We almost always SV our pork loin. It always turns out so tender and juicy. We like 2 1/2 hours at 135F. I usually don't even sear it afterwards.

That tent and the mattresses look awesome. We used to camp a lot when I was in my 20's. It wasn't near that easy to pitch the tent. One trip it poured for like a day and a night. Water pooled up on the top sides of the tent. Despite Ronnie telling me not to poke or touch where the water was sitting, like a child, I couldn't resist. That made the water start dripping in. Boy was I in trouble lol.

We are not a patient bunch.....as you know 😬

🤣 The Last Drop doesn't mean what I first thought it meant I love the dishes that the haggis is on.
