  1. Doing my yearly bump of this inspiring thread
  2. Kay, your tomatoes look SO good! My pickage has looked like this for about a week and half now. Green beans, squash, zucchini, a couple cucumbers (not enough to start a batch pickling though.....I'm down to 3 cuke plants so I'm hoping I get enough) a few cherry tomatoes, and an onion or two. Lettuce is starting to bolt. I'm going to miss having it. But, hopefully the tomatoes will make up for it I have one plant that looks wilty and the leaves have rust spots. I'm hoping what ever it is doesn't spread to the others. \\ Anyone ever grown artichokes? My plants look like this now....they don't seem to be growing very fast.....is this normal? Annnnd, I went over to our pumpkin area the other day and discovered there are also zucchini and watermelon interspersed amongst the pumpkins. And also these: They are not yellow squash. Maybe a pumpkin and a zucchini crossed?
  3. Duck egg that I might have kind of hidden in the fridge so that I could have it.......

    Dinner 2017 (Part 6)

I know, I know. My pork chop looks anemic. I SV'd it and I didn't feel like searing it. It was very tender so I don't care what it looked like lol.
  17. Our sandhill plum bushes are LOADED this year. I have never seen them like this before. I still have jelly from like 2 years ago but dang, I hate to not use these for something......
  18. Oh Elaina, I know how hard it is some years. Have you tried to dust with Sevin for the flea beetles?
  19. Holy crap, how cool!!! Nose molds!!!! LOVE the couches that you sit on. Was it comfortable to eat on them? Everything looks so good. Were those mulberries in the spoon next to the cheese? Love the pea presentation and also love the wooden spreader for the butter on the bread.

Ronnie went down to the river and caught us a nice catfish yesterday. So we had that, fries and a garden salad.
  25. Yeah, I think the pressure canner and I have made a little progress on our relationship lol. I've canned tomatoes in a water bath for like 20 years now. I think early on I canned spaghetti sauce but I decided that I'd rather just can the tomatoes and then make the sauce later out of those. OR, I make the sauce and freeze it. No problem with canning it, though. Now, if you put a lot of stuff in it like mushrooms etc. I'd pressure can it, but if it's mostly tomatoes you'd be fine in a water bath IMO.
