@Anna N I was thinking about your tiffin and wondered if you could stack part of it in your IP and cook in it?
-
Good to have you here, Ian!
-
This is brilliant!
-
It was cold here yesterday so that called for red beans, andouille sausage and rice with cornbread and collard greens from the garden.

I understand what low proof on the left means, but what does reliable on the right mean? Like you can rely on it to get you drunk lol?

I will make these soon. I am roll challenged. Mine always turn out like little loaves of bread....never like the fluffy rolls.

LOL! I haven't seen the movie yet, but I read the book Well, you know I didn't invent it....I just raved so much about it that it got your attention I wasn't planning on having fish last night but Ronnie caught a grass frog and had to go down to our river and fish for a while. He brought home a nice big drum so I fried that along with some shrimp. Oysters to go with.

Oh good job! I thought I had a murky memory of something like this. Sorry I wasn't any help @ElsieD I do need to experiment. I have a bag of wild rice from Rancho Gordo that I've had forever that I would like to try.
-
I have not but I think someone here has done a mix like that? I'm curious too....... Or maybe I did and it was a fail a long time ago? My old brain can't remember. @Anna N did you make wild rice at one point?

Yes!!!! Hatch chiles!!!!!! Oh, I'm so glad you found some!! I bet that salsa is amazing. I can't wait to hear what you think. I do not think I could pass up that pottery, though.

I had leftover fresh made whipped cream. I couldn't let it go bad.

Ok, so I made asparagus again last night. Same method except this time I did 7 minutes. I know I said I was going to do 6 but a lot of my spears were big fat ones so I felt like 7 was better. Success! Not mush, but not crisp. Just how we like it.

We had a wonderful Easter--just the two of us SV'd lamb chops (which I liked--and I'm not a huge lamb fan but these were good), rice pilaf and asparagus with hollandaise because after I read what @kayb was having I had to copy that. And, I had to use up 10 egg yolks because I tried once again to make @Kim Shook's favorite Rhulman's angel food cake. The last time I tried (it was my first ever try at angel food cake) I didn't turn the cake upside down to cool so it turned into a shrinky dink cake lol. This time I found a pan downstairs--I think my mom gave it to me after my first cake debacle--it's a long pan almost like a Pullman loaf pan and it has feet on the top so I didn't have to find a bottle to rest my other pan on. Anyway, yay! I had cake success! I used my Grammy's dishes...I should use them more often. I love them. This is half of the cake.

First asparagus pick yesterday so I thought I'd try cooking in the IP. I put a cup of water in the bottom and placed the trivet in. On top of that I made a foil "boat" and put the asparagus in along with some garlic, Lawry's salt and Lemon Pepper. 4 mins on high and QR. Came out crisp/tender. Tasted SO fresh. I like my asparagus a tad more done so next time I'll go 6 mins and see what I get.

Alright. Planted a ton more beets. Found a seed tape of them that I had bought. Also, 6 very long rows of green beans and 4 rows of lettuce. And Ronnie transplanted a bunch of cilantro that was growing in the yard for me. And he also transplanted the Silver Queen corn he's been growing in his green house. I know, I know. I will fall over and die if they actually make corn. edited to add a couple boring pictures. Well, one boring picture and a picture of Ronnie's corn that is going to probably die lol. Boring picture of just the garden area: Ronnie's beloved corn: I also got some okra seeds and some delicata (sp?) squash seeds in the ground. Never had that kind of squash but have read such good things about it here that I had to try. I'm pooped for today...will probably try to plant some more tomorrow.
