  1. Woof. That stuff isn't cheap!
  2. Amtrak has never had, at least in my memory, anything approaching civilized dining on the Northeast Corridor trains. The offerings are more like a 3rd rate convenience store even in First Class on the Acela. Wawa puts Amtrak to shame. But I'm not sure there is a market for more than what they have now. Perhaps on one of the few long distance trains.
  3. @CentralMAwhat do you do with the used oil?

    Dinner 2021

Nice. I enjoy the glimpses of kitchen in the background too
  7. Food Lion has been out of/short on eggs for weeks. Acme has loads. Same thing with arugula. Silly supply chain.
  8. I think that "organic" is un-regulatable. Grain looks like grain and no analysis will determine if it was grown by organic principles. The govt could have agents all over who certify each field etc etc and track it through processing, but given that it is not a public health issue its hard to imagine justifying the expense.

The AGA I've seen has no knobs. Just a few doors.

  18. Roast pork sandwiches with broccoli rabe and sharp provolone
  19. This from the owner re my order. I think I'm in love. Ah that's great to hear, I love it when the internet does something good. Both times it ever happened. 😉 Your order is all boxed up and ready to ship. It shipped most reasonably in a Priority Mail Regional Rate Box A, which was less than a Medium Flat Rate Box (the glass jar won't fit in a Small Flat Rate Box), and less than a recycled Amazon box I tried. You'll notice a lot of empty space in the box, that's the nature of flat rate boxes. You could fill that box with tins and the price wouldn't change. Just something to consider for your next order, after you get a sense of the space of the box. What a lot of people do to take advantage of the fact that I don't charge at check out is order a few new tins and then tell me to "fill the box" with their favorite or a mix of favorites, which I'm happy to do.
  20. @Duvel I visited the Pergamom museum a few years ago. I was stunned that I was looking at the same tiles and walls that Nebuchadnezzar built and touched. That currywurst has a poutine feel about it, eh? Any details on that carrot /apple/ walnut salad? Was it sweet...mayonnaisey..and any spice?
  21. Apparently featured in NYT Style last spring but I'm pay-walled out.
  22. I found a new (to me) online tinned fish store. Huge selection of the good stuff at decent prices. https://rainbowtomatoesgarden.com/ Their main business is tomatoes, regarding which he is a savant/guru/maven, but they have the side business too. First order placed...
