Pyrex and Corning Ware, along with Tupperware- in good shape, commands good money these days.  In a thrift shop, it needs someone who knows what they are looking at.

it always saddens me when I see Tupperware that has been thrown through the dishwasher.  It buckles the lids.

likewise when I see a ton of Pyrex and Corning without the lids - immediate devaluation.

but (with @andiesenji s help,) I'm strongly thinking about starting a vintage cookware collection.

My Tupperware has gone thru the dishwasher for decades, never buckles the lids

  2. See I enjoy Guy Fieri cause he showcases interesting food and recipes that spur my creativity.

I like Martha Stewart cause its easy to watch and nothing annoys me. I own none of her books or merch, I just enjoy watching her and I loved her spots on Letterman and Conan (esp when she drank a Colt 45 and Taco Bell Burrito) and love her love of Gangsta Rap.

I am not interested in ppl like Ree or Rachel Ray, how many burgers can one eat? Ill bet neither knows any food history etc.

Ree and Rachel are like Fallon, Martha and Vivian Howard are Letterman

Ree and Rachel exist to feed the average American Family who knows no better. Ive cause Rachel in the past, making false statements about recipes and ingredients.

Im having the same issues with YouTube cooks, recently I unsubed 2 Indian youtube cooks, cause I had had enough of their stupidity and ignorance in cooking. When you are using a spatula in high heat and it is literally BLACK from being burnt in hot oil, you know bad estrogens are seeping out into your food, and the reason your cakes are flat is because you mix the baking powder with the wet ingredients and stir and let sit while you mix the dry and prepare the pan...SMH There is an American Im about to unsub cause she mispronounces things and all her actual cooking is fairly bad, and she is pretty unknowledgable too.

Well Ive said a lot, or too much

You do know there are blogs and web boards dedicated to HATE watching cooking shows right? Its snarktastic fun.

Oh...goodness....if this is for me, I totally do not want to become a land baron and I give the Drummonds all their props for doing what they do.  My whole point was that I don't think that Ree would be where she is right now without help money-wise---like paying for her site to come up first when searching for certain food recipes. And, one of her recipes totally failed for me so *shrug*.  To each their own :) .

I will bow out of this conversation.

Shelby, her father was a dr, shes from money all around. And I agree with you. Shes Pia Zadora

    After all

    Martha Fellon

did her best to rehabilitate herself

after Prison duty for some time

    doing This and That

    possibly free show to PBS

    to get some Brand Structure

    or not

    for free to PBS

    under the 12:00  PM notes

but her shows are still what there were and are now

But Martha can cook, she knows technique. I dont think Ree is a cook, as is proven by the tenderloin boiling witnessing above.

I believe Ree is manufactured. As for her folksiness, she was educated in LA as a journalist and gerontologist...

Because once cooks started to think they were rock stars, they got way too inked. They're not rock stars; they're fucking cooks.

Whether or not you can stomach Sarah or Ming isn't the point; they knew how to cook, and weren't involved in food fights.

But Sarah called the Thanksgiving protein TURKEY LURKEY! After that, I just couldnt...

BTW if you are into tats, you are gonna get one,  like Craig Ferguson has tats and he did those cause he loves the USA.

Doesnt matter what I say...in the end Guy Fieri will win the world, and we all know it, whether we like it or not. LOL

Gimme a David Rosengarten, Sarah Moulton (who learned at the hands of the master), Ming, any day. And obviously Jacques and Julia. Funny how they could cook without tattoos.

I stopped watching Food network a very long time ago.

    Why the hate towards Tattoos?

I cannot stomach Sarah or Ming. He bores me and her quick on and off smile is super annoying.

But give me Vivian Howard and Ill watch all day. Or Biba or Daisy Martinez. There is an older Indian female who consistantly

burns her Tadkas that drives me nuts too.

I guess Im just like Jerry Seinfeld. He says he wakes up irritated.

No this is a person graduated from a well respected university (unforfunately mine) - she is just playin an angle

English, reading and spelling were my best subjects in school. Ive written 2 books and know correct terms, but I also love colloquialisms and vernacular. Im from Philly, we use a lot of different expressions. So....*shrug*

My issue with Ree, is she is another illuminati tool. Just another tool for the big food companies to use to sell crap, rather than educate people about food -- like Vivian Howard.

The Food Network has become a front for Hersheys, Ball Park and Heinz etc.

Come to think of it, yes, the texture is a bit coarser than the Costco dogs.

Never had a Smokie ... think along the line of Kielbasa

Then its a Smokie... so good! If you see Oscar Mayer Smokies at the store buy em

I watched this show once, several years ago. They were making beef tenderloin for their workers. The tenderloins were beautiful, and they had a ton of em.

They lit a fire of what I assume was mesquite, loaded the tenderloins into roasting pans with whatever they were marinated in. They put that over the fire and essentially boiled them. I couldn't watch any more.

The TEA in the Gossip cup is that all her recipes are from old cookbooks and she has no original recipes

Surely, all this stuff is not on topic.  It's about bad shows.  Not bad people.

I started it up cause of the screen shot of Giada giggly and kneeling at Batalis feet on the Chew, I posted awhile ago. It was bizarre. She was a guest, saw Mario and went over and dropped to her knees in front of him.

Apparently FN was bringing back Molto Mario with new shows....

I dont even watch the FN or CC anymore. Too much schtick. Im even unsubbing from a few YouTube cooks who I used to HATE WATCH.

I just cant take anymore schtick or BS. I was telling my Online BFF that I finally unsubbed an Indian Cook who used Ajwan Seeds and oregano in her nacho tortilla chips and another who keeps stirfrying with a brownie serving spatula (lets not get into her adding the baking powder to the wet ingredients which makes her cakes flat.)

I have a low tolerance these days.
