To bring the .95 back to food...what really drives me nuts is when they cant decide between .95 and .99 and scatter both number through a menu or deli sign board...on the sign boards, did they run out of 9s and have to switch to .95 or are they just not paying attention and maybe pricing by committee? tracey

Sunday was bread day here 3 lovely loaves of soft white sourdough bread. We ate one gave one to my mother and managed to snap a picture of the third one. I cut a few slices to toast at work in the morning, intending to get the interior shot in the afternoon for you. Anyone remember the Pet disaster thread? where I may have mentioned my new doggie eats any and everything?....SHE ATE MY BREAD it didnt agree with her either

This could also drift towards fall festival stuff like a chicken sausage/puff pastry app and other Oktoberfesty foods.... tracey

The only thing I can think of thats kosher is a vegetable broth acidified with some lemon or a good "fancy" vinager. I have seen an "en papillot" salmon dish that used lots of lemon juice and no wine tracey

Today we were on a mission to turn a 40 mile trip into a 4 hour tour. We headed North then West and North West until we were somewhere above Newburgh and then South-East till we got to Barnstormer. So now we have all our directions set for a motorcycle day trip in July. We arrived in time to get on line outside the door at 12:58 (they open at 1pm)....in a pigpen somewhere is a Wanted poster with my picture on it We ordered the awsome marinated shrimp (spicy as hell) and a couple of sandwiches pulled pork w/sauce and the pulled pork NC style with vinager slaw and dove right in. We also took home some cornbread and chile for lunch tomorrow...BBQ meal #1 for today...dinner in Jersey tracey

Another great BBQ meal, 2nd one of the day but I digress. Dinner at Keo Ku tonight and the place was slammed, big parties - little parties and full table everywhere. We were seated pretty fast and ordered beef rib and spicy pork. There was cluncker among the banchan but thats a personal thing it was a very earthy "green" of some kind but another looked like arugala and was amazing with great spicy/sour notes and lots of sesame. We should all be lucky enough to eat 5 different veg and they taste good at every meal. tracey

So I had mentioned something about doughnuts last week. They were pretty damn tasty...when they were fresh and hot that is, the next morning when I brought them to work was a whole other story. My new boss is never going to eat anything I make again. I gave him a nice homemade doughnut and then took one for myself a few min later. Oh dear lord it tasted like sweet nasty old grease wrapped up in chewey dough yech yech yech no more making extra ( he never said a word )
