    Worst Beer Ever Tasted

plain white can; the word 'beer' stamped across it? oh yeah...
  9. hee hee. i like you. you know, there's a crepe place across the street from Raymond's called Suzette that i have come to love for late breakfast. i'm so in love with one of their savory crepes that i get it every time i go and i haven't really tried too much else on the menu, but i am pretty sure that they have a buncha interesting omelets and breakfast-y crepes, along with really good fresh juices and good cappucino, muffins, pastries, etc. it's a cool mellow place to hang out on a weekend (late) morning. there's another crepe place in watchung plaza, i think it's called bonjour or something original like that, but i like suzette better.
  10. eppes essen. used to be very good, but i haven't been in a long time. nana's deli (also in livingston--on s. livinsgton ave.) is quite good.

  13. i've been wanting to try daisy may's, but they close at like 8:00 (at least on most weekdays). supposed to be expanding their hours in a few weeks tho.
  14. babyluck: what's the name of this band?
  15. nizza: the cheesecake kind of rocked my world. i mean, i liked the brownie and all, but then i tried the cheesecake, ya know? wow. i got a small chocolate chip. and it's a very good thing that it was a small. i haven't baked a cheesecake in quite a while but that one inspired me. the layer of chocolate on the bottom, the layer of i-don't-know-exactly-what-but-it-was-mighty-good on the top, the perfect crust. i should hate you because i sense an unhealthy addiction coming on. i can't wait to try other flavors!
  16. i have driven by here a few times but it's so unassuming that i never gave it a thought. this post got me out the door. haven't gotten to the cheesecake yet because i could not resist the brownie. ohmigod. soooo rich. i googled this and kept getting listings for a marc's cheesecakes on dean st. in englewood? any relation?

    Corso 98

I think I've seen this on some TV "reality" show before... yeah....

    Corso 98

not surprising--the owners are brothers who hail from rome, i think, and their mom makes the pasta herself. i've dined in the kitchen a few times and the first time i did, i ordered the same dish you had. as i took my first bite, she was watching me like a hawk to see what i thought. i don't think she speaks much english, and i don't speak any italian, but it was easy to communicate my delight, which made her beam from ear to ear. and the whole staff calls her "mama" which is very sweet.
  19. honey, nothing is as much fun as when you were 21! aw c'mon, how much could have changed in 3 years? but seriously, i don't think you can go wrong in seaside. any bar there is going to be amusing for one reason or another. i think you'll have a blast wherever you end up.
  20. tehuitzingo deli and grocery 695 10th ave near 4th (counter stools only) taco taco 1726 2nd ave (between 89th and 90th) (tables)
  21. there's a fine taqueria a few blocks down from the courthouse on grand st. as you go toward rt 80. sorry i can't be more specific, but it's on a corner, same side of the street as the courthouse.
  22. 7/23/03 NYT article: The True Flavors of Mexico, Hidden in New York not sure if the above link will work, but I hope it does, because if you haven't seen this article, then you may not know about tehuitzingo deli and grocery, where i had the BEST tacos today. this is the real deal, that's all i can say. chicken, carnitas, spicy pork, steak...and there are others. simply fabulous. check it out: 695 10th ave (near 47th) and yes, it appeared to be packed with NYT readers.

    FASCINO

Yes, that was especially delicious! We went this weekend and had arugula salad with shaved parmesan and warm portobello mushrooms (special), an excellent salmon tartare (special), striped bass that was pan fried, i think, and served on a bed of tomatoes (special), and cornmeal crusted sea scallops served with corn and spinach. Very nice atmosphere; friendly, attentive service.
  24. i'm a two (2), not a one (1). have not decided what to bring yet; will post when we do.
