I'm going to be in Beaufort SC. for 2 nights in early April and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for decent place to eat nearby. Not HHI please.

Thanks for those two suggestions. Both look like great lunch spots. Is anyone familiar with the Veranda Restaurant in the Beaufort Inn for dinner?

The last time we were in Beaufort, we planned to eat at Sgt. White's. They were closed, so we then went to Plum - which was very good. Be sure to take the street address. We had a hard time finding it. Plum's is located on the back side of the development - facing the marsh. It is reached by walking around the developed property to the marsh side, or by going down a narrow open passageway from Bay Street - which is what we did.

Had a very nice meal at Panini's last week. Very good but casual pizza & pasta cafe. For something a little upscale there is Saltus Grill or the dining room at the Beaufort Inn, that 's a little more formal.

Beaufort is a great town.

Is Panini still in business?

Customer at the carving station: "Pardon me but is that roast beef rare?"

Apprentice Cook Malik: "No sir! There's plenty more in the kitchen!"
