Many thanks for a most wondrous blog! I don't know which was more impressive, the food or the cameraderie of the folks sharing the food.

And I am now filled with a certain culinary, not to mention general, nostalgia for the Pacific Northwest. I really am due for a trip back up there--I already owe a bunch of Seattle friends a visit as it is--and it would be lovely to swing up to Vancouver and see y'all. It may not be for a goodly while, but I'll be sure to let you know.

Thanks, *Deborah*, for a wonderful trip to another place I've never been. I've traveled around the country a lot, but fine dining was not a subject I got into at the time, (not for lack of appetite, though) and the west coast seem to have avoided me. Great Wolf, I have stove envy big time! :wub: It would fill my entire kitchen! :laugh: Great pictures, too. Thanks again.

What you can't see in the pictures are our faces hovering over the plates trying to enjoy the smell. The smell of the linguine dish as it was being served was divine. The sauce on the morels, um....someone has got to market that as a cologne. If we could have, I think we all would have licked every last drop of sauce off our plates. It truly was a tremendous meal that the kitchen put out last night. My first visit to Parkside and certainly not my last.

Congratulations on getting through the week Deb. It's been tough, but you made it. The stove had it's inaugural run, the dining room table was set up and used, there food, food and more food. It was just a typical week around these parts. (I know Deb will try and tell everyone that we don't do this all the time, maybe not all in one week, but this week was a fairly typical month for this group.)

Good Work!! Now you can sleep.

Between you and Jamie, you may yet make a Canadian out of me!

(Actually, you had help from a Vancouver city planner and city council member who gave a presentation on the redevelopment/densification of the False Creek waterfront at a forum on the future of the Delaware riverfront sponsored by the Center City District back in January. All sorts of wonderful slides of fabulous urban(e) neighborhoods with ample parkland right along the banks of False Creek, and stories about how the city pulled this off, partly by keeping the council's paws off the details of getting things done.)

Thanks for sharing some wonderful food and good friends. Hope that new range works well for you (I type this right after reading a Consumer Reports article on ranges that suggests that those ultra-high-end ranges don't perform much better than models costing half as much or less and have spotty reliability records).
