Lemon Pudding Cake by Sherry Yard

Has anyone tried this recipe? Any success? I tired it twice this weekend and it didn't work either time. They just never set up enough to unmold and there certainly wasn't any curd at the bottom like in the picutres in her book.

Has anyone had any luck with this?

Does anyone have a tried and true recipe that they like?

Thanks

Dan

I tried it, and had the same experience as you. The picture in the book looks like lemon pound cake with lemon curd on top.

Yeah it was like I was making a completely different recipe. The first time I tried it I assumed that I did something wrong, the second time they turned out exactly the same, very very frustrating. I hate it when recipes in cookbooks, especially when they are from respected chefs, don't work.

You know, this would upset me but I'm not surprised. I had a disappointment with another SY recipe from her book -- thumbprint lime meltaways. I even posted about it here. No matter what I did for the cookie part of the recipe, they spread into thin disks and completely lost the thumbprint. Others also tried the recipe and had the same problems.

She's a very talented chef but I think she or her editors really need to go back and re-test the recipes. This is unfortunate for someone of her caliber.

So long and thanks for all the fish.
