We are looking to buy a really good pie for Thanksgiving as we are busy cooking other things and want a dessert...where in PDX has the best whole pies for sale or cheesecakes if you can't think of a pie bakery...

THANKS!

I don't know what kind of pre-order system they have, but you would be remiss if you didn't call PIX first.

Annie Peterson, who used to bake for Tavola Catering, does tarts, tortes, and cheesecakes to order. Very good and reasonable, between $22 and $28 each.

Call her at 503-771-3739 or email anniepastrypoet@comcast.net

Ken's Artisan Bakery has been advertising seasonal tarts and pastry on the classical radio station. I believe they mentioned cranberry, apple, pear, and pumpkin as the flavors. I've always found Ken's tarts to be very good.

Baker & Spice (I think that's their name?) was advertising pumpkin and pecan pies for T-day. I had a small pumpkin tart thingy from them and it was really good. The custard was set perfectly, and there weren't too many cloves in the spices.

Thanks Jim!

I emailed Annie and she sent over her WONDERFUL list (I totally reccomend everyone scoping out her Holiday list...incredible selection and prices)...we are buying a Crimson somethingorother pie--Cranberries, Blueberries and Oranges in a lattice-work pie. I cannot wait. It was a hard choice though, I'll tell you!!!!
