eGullet Outing: Enoteca Vin

Although Raleigh is three speeding tickets away, I thought I'd mention the outing that Varmint is organizing at Enoteca Vin.

Here are the details of the dinner, along with a chat currently being held in the Southeastern forum with Chef Ashley Christensen, who just got a monster writeup in the October issue of Food and Wine magazine.

Here is another thread about the dinner, and a third thread where I basically put my head in the guillotine.

The blade falls on October 3rd - be there or be carré,

Rocks.

I'm down there that weekend, but unfortunately will have to be back for Monday morning. Sounds like a great menu though.

This - Black tea BBQ Niman Ranch pork shoulder tacos with marinated cabbage

Made my mouth involuntarily fall open. I guess that's a good sign.

If only this was after November 2nd I'd be on the road with room for several in my Expedition.

Wow, roundtrip airfare is $106, including all taxes and 9/11 charges.  That beats I-95 any day.  I'll coordinate getting folks to/from the airport, if needed!

FlyI also has a 2-for-1 sale on at the moment, if people want to team up on reservations - it's at http://www.flyi.com/companion.

The cost that way would be somewhere around $175 for two to fly (the special is off their regular fares).

However, if you join their frequent flyer club, you get $25 off your first round trip ticket. That way, you could fly here for $81!!!

So, who's coming?
