Great restaurants that deliver

Hi there, my friends just brought home their son from the hospital and I was thinking of having a big feed delivered to them....something that "leftovers" well would be terrific but am open to all suggestions. They live right by the zoo, btw. TIA.

Go to www.finefood2u.com and see what you can order. You have to enter their zipcode. I tried 20009 as a zip and saw some decent places to order delivery from. It's probably your best bet for delivery. Also know as Take Out Taxi.

Buco di Beppo has some tasty if pedestrian italian. Huge meatballs!

Oodles Noodles has some pretty good Asian inspired stuff.

And Aroma used to have great Indian, but it's been a long time since I was there.

peak performance is predicated on proper pan preparation...

Mr. Chen's is great, and reasonably priced to boot. I especially like their kung pao tofu*.

*My household is free of meat- and fowl-dishes, so I never take-out kung pao chicken. For those of you whose standard of kung pao chicken is that place in NY with the "fresh killed" chicken, this isn't as good, but it IS about as good as tofu gets.

I wonder if a big ol' sushi platter from Spices would work...though sushi ain't so good for leftovers. I bet Vace could pack up some of their pizza or make a pan of lasagna. Or maybe a mezze-to-go from Lebanese Taverna? These are all very close to the zoo. Dunno if they will deliver but they're all worth visiting for pickup if you can.
