Ok...sounds like you folks had a blast. But I read through this whole thread awaiting the pics, particularly to see how dark your gumbo broth was and am sorely disappointed to see none :hmmm:

Same weekend, I burned myself badly when out of my shiny new giant pot flew two droplets of the oil from my latest roux. The worst part was that I failed to see it and respond with ice as I was so intent on achieving that dark mahogany colour. Amazing the speed with which oil achieves a second degree blister burn. Glad to see no such side effects occurred in Warrenville.
