Like many places which have either banned or imposed a punishment tax on single use plastic bags, carrier bags, shopping bags, whatever you call them, China has gone the fine route. The charge however, is miniscule and doesn't apply to small stores or delivery services.

I do try to minimise their use or to re-use them, but due to my recent limited mobility, often rely on delivery services.

However, some of the bags are very decorative, so I thought I'd share some. Many of them are food-themed. Here are a couple just from the last few days.

I'll post any other interesting samples as when I get them Also, of course, I'd like to see any of yours.

Those are very pretty! I'd guess the artwork would encourage people to keep reusing them.

Trader Joe's has, over the years, produced numerous stylish and commemorative bags.  Some have become collector's items and command very high price.  Here are some of TJ's creations:

Whenever I go to Trader Joe's, I get asked about my bags, as many are from 35 or so years ago when we lived in California. Since TJs has only been in this area for fewer than 10 years, they've never seen them. I'll have to dig them out one day and take pix.

I've got a very old Trader Joe's shopping bag that belonged to my late Mother that I often get asked about by TJ employees.  I never understood why she liked shopping at TJ's until I attained a certain age and now I do too.  😀

I have a bunch of these bags, which we use all the time.  At one point, we had 23 of them, but some have perished or been lost.  I worked next door to a trader joes for a long time, and I'd buy any I liked.  I make a modification, though.  I add a shoulder strap of 1" webbing.  44" one side to a side release buckle, 6" on hte ohter side of the buckle in a fixed loop.  The first couple I did I made a fixed strap out of canvas, and decided it needed to be adjustable.  when we lived in the condo and were street parking, I could carry about 12 loaded bags a couple blocks.
