Recently updated kitchen appliances from blender to food processor. Have the 14" cuisinart. Yeah, way behind the times.

I would like additional blades for this machine but there is no chart or other which shows me which blades other than those specifically called out on the mfr's site will work in it.

I have noticed that those called out have different numbering system than some older blades. e.g. an older blade may be DLC-035TX whereas the blade called out for my machine is DLC-037TX-1. Is the '-1' significant?

I also note different 'codes' such as DL-7, DL-10. Apparently to other models. Are all of these cutting blades different?

Does anyone know which, if any, of these blades would work in my new machine? a DFP-14BCNY?

When you write "additional blades," are you specifically looking for spares or for some other type of blade (like what other type of blade?)?

Because I would venture a guess to say that the best blades to buy for this machine are the ones made by Cuisinart.

I am not aware of any other mfr's blades for this machine. So, other types of blades, I only have the two it came with - 4mm slicer and medium shredder.

I would like a thinner slicer and french fry style blades. I'm sure there will be other types in the future.

I would search on Amazon, eBay, Etsy, etc. for blades and discs using your machine model number.  Before you buy, get assurances from the seller that what they offer will fit and work.  Then buy, try (and return if they don't work).

I've actually had decent luck with finding Cuisinart 12-cup pieces at garage and tag sales and junk shops.

Are you aware of the safety recall?  If your S-blade is old, you may still be able to get a FREE replacement.  I hazard the guess that the "-1" designation is for the new blades.

What specific pieces are you seeking?

Good luck

I have the 11 cup ' 11 prep + '

it has a removable shaft for the discs

at that time , the 14 cup model , ' 14 prep + '

used the same discs at the 11 cup.

there was a sims that sold all the blades for most of the Cuisinats

but I can't find its 800 number .  im sure it's still around.

if you find the discs that fit your model , I recumbent the thin slicer

and the matchstick disk.   it turns veg into , well matchstick and they make a nice salad.

Those are all available from Cuisinart's parts page of the model number you own.  Why the overthinking about this?

OK, so I've been to the Cuisinart site, was there long before registering with this forum.

Looking to make my resources go as far as possible, on limited income.

Not overthinking, thinking how to save on the things I want.

Background is engineering and quality assurance, not culinary.

Looking for a way to know which blades will fit the 14 cup machine mentioned in first post.

Not looking for the Cuisinart website, I know where it is and how to get to it.

Hoping to find someone who actually knows which blades are compatible. I don't know what the diameters of the 'older' blades are, figure this is the most important dimension. Looking for someone who has some of the older blades from previous processor models - they should be able to tell me if any of the will fit or if the blades must have the '-1' part number suffix.

I would think Cuisinart would know what blades would fit.

they might even know what the ' -1 ' means

true , its just a guess

I would think it very odd if Cuisinart did not know what their codes mean.

Of course those on line may not know, but the technical people would or should know.

this is not about what they mean, this is about what from the older machines work in the new machines.

I do not want to ask Cuisinart, i want to know what the people who use them know.

You might get a misinformed answer or an opinion - "I just push the button" - not necessarily what you need.

For the good of the order, Cuisinart made discs (for at least the 11C models) that have attached stems that fit.  I have the DLC-7Pro, and have yet to encounter one or the other that doesn't fit and work.

For storing the discs, the detachable stems are great, but there's a tiny bit of "slop" when using those.  Total PITA to store discs with the attached stems!

Thank you all for your responses. I found that the DLC-7's will fit my machine. And I will go from that on this.

Nothing against the Cuisinart website or anyone here who responsed.

Again,

thank all of you
