I saw them at Vons today ($2.50 each on sale) and they were truly huge. Very smooth with a thin appearing shiny skin and a bright green color. I plunked one on the scale and it was almost a pound and half. Wonder how big the seed is as they are usually proportionate. The description was "Low Cal Avocado". I saw none in carts but that is hardly a sampling. Personally, I was not tempted to experiment.

They look pretty but the taste is very bland. I was at my BIL house a few years ago and their neighbors had a huge avocado tree and I was drooling. He said they don't even taste good at all.

It's the bumpy skinned ones that taste good and not the big smooth ones.
