Seeking Feedback on Commercial Infrared Grills

Hi all,

I am planning on opening a restaurant and currently sourcing equipment. I am seeking a grill (char grill) that can provide a great BBQ charcoal taste. (Due to health codes in our region, we can't use authentic charcoal). While researching the best gas powered char grills, I was told the way to go was with an Infrared Grill. I understand these babies can attain searing temperatures of 800 degrees and some of the top Steakhouses are using these...

My question: Can someone vouch for these grills (in a commercial setting). We plan to use them for burgers and steaks. We are considering the TEC Infrared Grill.

Thanks to everyone in advance!

I don't want to steer the discussion away from your original choice of grill, but you should know that the "top steakhouses" generally use upright broilers instead of grills.

If you have the cash, then it might be worth taking a look at those. If not, I still don't think you can go wrong with an infrared grill -- I have a small consumer-grade unit, and have no regrets...

So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money. But when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness."

So I got that goin' for me, which is nice.
