Looking for dining recommendations for a trip to the Newport, RI region later this year.

esp looking for anywhere that has a raw bar and for "where the locals eat" info, but will gladly take any and all recommendations of any sort- fine-dining to good local holes-in-the-wall, anything's welcome.

Sincerely,

Dante

 Well Dante, Do you like Italian? If so there are two Italian restaurants I would recommend. The firt one is Perini's and the second one is Sardelli's which is next door to Perini's..

They both do a great business especially for being neighbors.. Out of the two I prefer Perini's. The place is eclectic and feels more homey than Sardelli's.

There is the White Horse tavern which is more french style food and very expensive ( you must dress - jackets for men for dinner)

Then there is a steak house down on Bowen's Wharf called 22 Bowen's Wine Bar and Grill. It is a world class steakhouse and the prices reflect that. Great wine list

For an relatively in expensive Breakfast try the restaurant at the Hotel Viking.

Still exploring newport and it's eateries, so if you find anything you like lets us know

Dante, if it's not too late, I would recommend Spark on Broadway -- innovative menu, great food, great atmosphere. It's a BYOB place, tiny, very friendly.
