Buying From Japan

Hi,

I have been trying to buy 4 things from Amazon Japan.

They are all OXO Good Grips items that I can not get in my country.

It keeps telling me that they cannot be shipped internationally.

Is there anyway I can get these items ?

Is there a a Japanese shopping service that buys stuff and ships it to the USA?

Thanks so much for posting the link to that Japanese shipping service. But it looks to me like you will pay more for shipping and their service than the cost of the times you want to buy. Let us know how it goes. I've been wanting a GLOBAL-PRO chef's knife, and then there's this donabe I've been dying for, but the shipping, service charge, and additional fees (5% for the privilege of paying with PayPal for example) seem exorbitant.

They dont just work with Yahoo and Amazon Japan. You can order from any online Japanese store on the net.

Well, I feel dumb!

When I saw this item:

I thought it was a stick with a half oval blade on the bottom.

When I ran it thru Google Translator it said this: OXO Good GURIPPUSU REDORU scale

I thought it was a fish scaler. But its a plain old LADLE!

Whats the scale mean?

I cant believe I bought a ladle from Japan when I already have one.

The scale bit is from 目盛り付, which Google translates as "with scale." But 目盛り can also mean gradations or measurements, so this probably means that there are some measurements on the ladle, so you can see how much liquid is in the ladle.

But yeah, definitely frustrating!

Okay I recieved all my Japanese OXO stuff today in perfect condition.

The daikon grater is absolutely gorgeous! I love the feel of the base in my hand.

Yeah, that's "OXO Good Grips Ladle". Swap out the "r"s for "l"s in the last word and you've got ladle.

How does an OXO rice paddle differ from a basic rice paddle? I can't see how they'd add a lot of function to such a simple tool.
