LOL! But probably true p

I guess it's better to have plastic pieces in your food than metal pieces, Good call. p

So it's sort of like a hotplate or the element on an electric stove? Not too efficient to my way of thinking, the whole premise behind induction is that it directly heats the cooking vessel rather than something else heating and through conduction heating the cooking vessel which eventually heats the food...and the price??? p

http://panasonic.ca/cio/index.html?gclid=CM7K7s-K_dACFcS1wAodV3wP-g#hero I'm mystified, the blurb states it uses a combination of infrared and induction to work BUT uses an aluminum pan. I'm not impressed by its price either $699 CDN Unless I'm missing something, this won't find a home on my countertop! p

If you go to their site you should be able to download an english copy of the manual that also includes recipes, just pick your model. http://instantpot.com/benefits/specifications-and-manuals/ p

When you drill it out, replace with a small nut and bold...or be proactive and do all of them. p
-
Should have thought of this earlier - drill it out and re-attach with machine thread nut and bolt - they can be obtained very small. p

Smoke from grilling or searing will be the only concern when using an induction cooktop. I have a cheap hood about 200 cfm which isn't even ducted to the outside, so I don't do a lot of grilling/searing. p

Drilling out the screw will certainly allow you to remove the screen, but unless you can figure another way of securing the new one in place you will have to re-tap the hole for a new screw. I have had luck in the past by using a pair of "vice-grips" to grab hold of the screw head. If you get all that done, I would suggest replacing the philips head screws with small bolts with a hex head - it'll be easier next time. p

The Thermador Freedom has 48 3 inch coils which are side by side, you are limited to 4 pots. p

If you do opt for induction and you're doing a remodel or have some flexibility, make sure you have a 220 volt receptacle in your kitchen. The 110 volt "portable" cooktops are underpowered and limited to 1800 watts whereas the 220 volt units are "commercial" grade and are upwards of 3000 watts. p

Silicone would not be my first choice either p

https://www.amazon.ca/Rectangle-Toast-Pastry-Silicone-Wooden/dp/B01ENNMFQ6/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8 Says it can be used in oven and bread is mentioned in the descriptions. Unfortunately the two reviewers use it for making soap! p

Those wanting to obtain a cooking ebook which is only available in kindle format and have a different reader try Calibre - https://calibre-ebook.com/ This free program will convert anything to anything (and a whole lot more). I have a sony reader and use it extensively. p

Re Big Boss: I asked about that and it was suggested that it wasn't an "air-fryer" p

@ Mmmpomps I see a flat circular rack in the background, could you have put it on top of the tall rack to make sort of a cross-hatch and prevent your mushrooms from falling through? p

There are a lot of chemicals that are bad for you, there are a lot of chemicals that are good for you and there are a lot of chemicals that don't do squat one way or another. p

I got one and also picked up the silicon/lid cover so leftovers like soup can go directly in the fridge. p

Okey dokey, substitute "toss" for "Flip" and delete "cso" and "no steam" Should work. MOST importantly add an "s" to beginning of the word "tand" p
-
I'm thinking that with the Breville, the top (with little headroom) was browner due to direct exposure to the top elements, whereas the sides were shielded by the cake pan. p

@Anna - frozen McCain Steak cut fries olive oil + seasonings (garlic, salt, pepper) or whatever, in a bowl toss fries, 10 min, flip 10 min more in cso, 450 no steam = restaurant fries! You need to use a thicker cut to tand up to the oven otherwise you get overdone tasteless potato chips p

There's definitely something wrong with that pot! I'd call the IP people for sure. p
